Open Invite! at the Flats - Nov 28

Thats to the wall all the way. Was he alright, I'm glad my Nephew didn't see that I would never get him back in the jeep. I guess thats wheel-in.

thanks to all who came out. wonderful day of wheelin. glad to see the only injuries we had were egos, nothing major. lol we have learned alot from this open invite, (and the next one) will go alot smoother. thanks alot again on behalf of rock corps 4x4

ps. hot dog guy this is for you: you really know how to feed a crowd, and have them coming back for more. the one hot dog i got, i would have to say was one of the best i have ever had can't wait til i can get another.

and for those who had to wait on tools or the air compressor i'm sorry. i was kinda busy . next time i will try my best not to have you wait.

I thought the place was awesome! I think there was plenty for everyone and then some. I was shocked of how much there was for mildly built rigs and for people just starting to wheel . only regret was I didnt bring my dd yj. cant wait until the next one. Thanks again guys! you did an awesome job

Yes I just want to say awsome event had alot of fun, got a good thing. Thanks alot!!!

We had a blast at The Flats and a great group running it!!

We arrived around 9:30am, aired down, and proceeded to run every Green and Yellow trail (excluding #10- too long of a line). I think I was the first up #6 on the day as there were no tire marks and it was STEEP (for a yellow). I enjoyed trail #2 the most- it had rocks, climbs, twists, stumps, and clay.

After running through the woods, we headed over to the Playground and spent what seemed hours on the hills and concrete blocks. We cruised back into the woods, but the traffic jams slowed things down a bit. So we mostly just watched the roll over extractions and Hill climbs.

I wish my wife could have made it out in the Hummer, it would have rocked out there. Perfect mix of terrain to run vehicles like that.

Here are just a couple of our shots, I'll have some video up at some point also.

Big thanks to Rock Corps 4x4 for opening up the flats for everyone yesterday it was an awesome day of wheeling! Hope they will open it more often.

PS. forgot camera at home so anybody that could post any pics it would be greatly appreiated

I forgot to mention.

When I come back to the RV last night there was a trailer tag sitting on my table. SO if you have a trailer that had a plastic tag mount, that had been fixed before, well, it didn't work, it broke off and I have it. PM me with tag number and I will work to get it to you.

I liked this, but it caught me off guard a bit...the trail ratings are not to be taken lightly. Unlike URE where I can take my DD XJ with one locker on all the trails no matter what the rating, here at the flats, some of the easy trails were about all I was willing to try. The fact that I had 2 kids with me and I really dont want to bust out a window yet, made me avoid the yellow trails...tight, off-camber, and slippery with peaty soil/decompsing leaves. The blue trails...well...definitley extreme.

here is a pic of some of the bdb at chick fil a in morganton sat. morning
