First im not a big yj fan but picked up another thinking I could make a few bucks. So it will be up for sale. It is an 89 islander. Is there value in the islander package im not aware of? I ask this because depending on how far I go a paint job may be in order and I dont care for the islander blue or the decals. The jeep is stock. No lift tires or mods. I bought it due to needing a tranny (auto) which I have. I also think I have enough parts laying around to lift it 4 inches and have a basically new set of wheels and tires. I dont really want to go thru the time and effort to part this out unless I get all my money quickly which isnt likely. What would you do?

How much do you want for it?

So just cleaned up and driving? No lift, tires, paint?

As far as price I would take an offer before I get started on it but dont have a price in mind without doing some work on it.

what's that other petty blue car behind the YJ. Wouldn't be a charger would it? THAT looks like a much more interesting topic to me.:driver:

Your money is probably just fixing the transmission and selling it. The more time you put into the the more you're going to need out of it to make it worth wild. You'd be surprised how many people would rather buy an unlifted jeep than on that is already lifted.

But, I'm with you on this. I don't think that islander package makes it any more valuable.

Pretty sure the islander was just some graphics and interior trim.

What engine does it have? 4.2?

If I didn't already have 1 & 1/2 yjs in the garage I'd make a decent offer lol

Ok so when I get some free time ill put a tranny I it. Kinda what I figured, but saves me from going back n forth wantn to build it. Got too many to play with now.

as far as my car (at least the one I shoulda kept outa the pics) its a 70 charger with a rebuilt 440. Still a project but it moves around under its own power. The interior was gutted. Guy was tryn to build a nascar tribute. Plan on getn the interior together and paintn it.

An 89 Islander 6 cyl will be the 258. Not much for horsepower, but lotsa torque. Crap-tastic Carter BBD carburetor with a gazillion miles of vacuum tubes and electrical wires running it.

Yep the 258. Got one in my scrambler. Lots of torque. Put a t18 behind it and it eats motor mounts. Or maybe I should quit popping the clutch

Good eye but actually a satellite. Just another toy. Healthy 318 automatic. I have automotive a.d.d. I never seem to finish them
