Hey fellas...figured I'd just throw this out there, but I won't be able to tow the Cheerwine boat this year in the Faith 4th of July parade. Mainly because the parade is going to be on Monday, the 5th and I'm going to have to work and no one is really willing to drive my truck and I don't want them to. Historically, this has been one of the largest 4th of July parades in the state. So if you have the time and want to show off your rig, let me know. Cheerwine sponsors my brother's bass boat, so I'm sure you could score a few cases of Cheerwine, Blue Mist, Savage, Sunkist, etc. if you were willing to help. My brother is also sponsored by an outdoors supplier...so if you were to help, I'm sure you could make good on the 50% off all items except for 25% of ammo and 10% off firearms. So if you're interested and wanna show of your rig, post up or shoot me a PM.

If no one steps up, give your local Ford dealership a call. They're usually willing to loan vehicles out for parades, if you let them put their contact info on the sides.

I borrowed a brand new F250 Superduty ($50,000+) for last year's 4th of July parade in Troutman. No cost. Just had to sign for it and bring it back with a full tank.

you need a bottomland 4x4 truck on rockwells! does the pull truck need to be street legal?
what time on monday?

It does not need to be street legal to be in the parade...and I'm sure you won't catch any flack going from my house to the start of the parade (less than 3 miles). But how you get the truck to my house, is up to you. IIRC, the parade usually starts around 10 but you need to be in the lineup around 8. Thanks for anything you can do.

Haha that would be awesome! Get the white ford out there

Mmmm...Ford even better.

For the Record, usually when I tow for the parade, I use one of these:

Last year was the first year I towed for Cheerwine, so I dudded out with the flags:

That is a pretty, pretty truck!

Thanks I appreciate it. Short story, the 77 was my first ride when i bought it at 15, hit head on by a drunk uninsured motorist and the truck got laid on it's side when I was 17. i only had liability, dad said 'lets restore it'...9 months later and several trips to dennis carpenter and a couple of junkyards she was ready to be painted.

That's awesome! Do you have pictures of the before or the process?

I have a couple pics scanned in somewhere before the wreck. Then I have a couple pics scanned after we got the front 60 back in after it was ripped out from under the truck. After that...I might have a couple pics of it primered. I'm at work right now, but I know there are some pics floating around the interwebz somewhere.

how about john? (2hi2cu) he would need a big drop hitch!

Talked to him yesterday. He said 2HI has been in storage for 8 months and he hasn't even seen the truck in 3. He said he was gonna pull it out to get it all dolled up and try to sell it one more time at the Ford Nationals...if it didn't sell, he was gonna do some surgery...I heard the word rockwells in there somewhere...haha.

We also figured we'd need a 17" drop hitch...biggest I have at my disposal is 10".

it should be easy to fab something for parade duty.... maybe not something I would wanna cruise down the highway with.

Edit: I need to at least make it to the parade this year. I don't think i've been since high school(grew up in salisbury)

Yeah...I think dad's shop could fab something up.

As for the parade...lately it seems like it's hit or miss, some years are awesome with great cars/trucks/entrants...others are ugly 'beauty queens' and underwater basket weaving champions.

Eric....I might know where we can come up with about a 17" drop hitch:bounce2: I'll do some more checking on that for ya!! And if you need it,I've got 3 different hitches here that should work on one of your trucks if needed. My buddy Chris that owns the red Toyota that I hauled up there for the bog,the drop hitch belongs to his cousin....so I'll have him do some checking on it.

Hey John, I appreciate it, but no need to worry about it. My brother got a call last night from one of his other sponsors and they came up with an F450. So thanks to all that were willing to help, I do greatly appreciate it.
