good seeing you guys. camper does look pretty cool!

Thanks, guys, event thought it was short it was a fun trip. I have to apologize for not being more social. I'm not a large crowd person, that and I really don't know what most of you guys look like :)

Truth is I only made a feeble attempt at that ledge. My jeep just isn't in the same league as the buggies, so I'm limited in what I can do.

Aw shucks :)

I would hardly call it a feeble attempt! Check the pic for carnage to both rear corners and the tailgate and the holes you dug!

Yag - how'd the tow setup work this time?

.
Well speak up man..I didn't realize who you were until you and John were riding off from Jagger, I then recognized your Jeep.

Must have been my stealth hat :) NP, I'll say hey next time.. I was afraid if I said anything, you'd all start some MD peer pressure tactic to get me to give Jagger a try :D

Towing - well I made it there and back, thats better than last time :) Actually tow rig did great (other than my interior door handle breaking off just before I left) 8mpg out/ 8.5mpg back. It got better mpg the harder I drove it :)

I was able to hold 65-70 for most of the ride. The big hills I had to fall off some. The truck has the $31 prom which is the HD truck chip, its a bit less overall HP, but its stable to run it at higher rpms for extended periods with no worries of burning up stuff. So those 3-4 mile hills were, 2nd gear @3500 chugging along.. Tranny was shifting perfect, only thing I need to do is tweak the converter lock up points 5mph lower, and turn on 2nd gear lockup (oem tables are disabled). That would help 10x with being able to hold those long hills without the tranny temps creeping up. The highest I got was 240 on the way out. I figure those combination of hills and curves is about the worst I'm likely to see. With the 4.10s I was able to hold a head of steam at a reasonable speed on the hills so it was good...

I scaled the setup on the way back after topping off at Haw River. With the 800# WD hitch bars and ~800 of TW

Steer 3340
Drive 3500
Trailer 7580
Gross 14420

I need to bump my plate weight up a little more, I'm at 15k now but I can see peeking over that if I'm loaded down with more crap.

I knew a guy named Yager once. He even rode with me at Tellico one time. I thought all he did now was build and sell campers. :flipoff2:

I always miss the ONE trip per year with Yager, last time I wheeled with him was WAY back in CNC4x4 history when 33s were HUGE!! :)

Very cool pics, I would love to do Harlan sometime but not sure what they have for "stock" level rigs on 33ish? (Locked F&R etc)

Ah yes, the elusive Yager also rode with me at Tellico way back when on a CNC4x4 trip. He was filming the official video for the trip. I think I still have a copy of that tape somewhere on VHS. Tells ya how long ago that was.
