This is Katrina. I am planing a trip to URE on June 8th and Rob can't go. I would like to go with a group but don't know who is available. Is anyone out there interested? I hope to have my sister w/ me and she has never been on any trails before. Let me know.

I will check. My junk won't be ready, but I may bring the daughter and let her wheel her Jeep. I will let you know.

Steve, has your daughter wheeled much?

Corey, I'm fine hitting some of the easier trails. I haven't been on them in awhile. I would like to hit Rocky Mt Loop at least once so I can see how much it has changed since the race. I still can't believe I hit a tree before the second check point. I am suppose to get my Jeep back today. I haven't been able to drive it since the race because I broke and damaged so many brackets in the front end. It's been 2 1/2 weeks and I am dying to hit the trails!

No actually it would be her first time in her Jeep. And since it is open on both ends it ought to be fun. Why did you hit the tree??
 
Katrina, I think I will be able to go. (bharm) here......I was begining to think the jeeperz site was dead...but it looks like it will live again soon.

Good question Steve! I've been asking myself that very question at least 100 times a day for 2 1/2 weeks now. I guess it was adrenalin rushing through my veins at the moment Dylon said go! That was all my mind was tellling me for the whole 30 seconds that I lasted during the race was go,Go,GO!!!! Needless to say I did GO and at about 40 mph I hit a tree on the front driver side. First I blew out my back passenger tier, then I saw where I broke the bracket to the track arm and nearly broke the bottom bracket to the driver's side control arm and even bent the upper bracket to the passenger upper control arm. I have replaced all the brackets to some pretty heavy duty stuff and have relocated the track arm to a little better position so this "should never" happen again. If it does then I'll probably damage the axel too.

Why did you sell the XJ? What is Carol driving now?

Did you make it to the 4x4 race? I saw Rob92xj and Sinbad. Sounds like they had a lot of fun and they were both able to finish the race all though I haven't heard what their time was yet.

I still don't think we have met but it would be cool if you can make it on Sunday the 8th. I should be down there around 10:00. What do you drive?
 
Katrina, yeah I was at the race on saturday. Sat up on Kodak and watched the rigs pile up. It was an awesome time.....I think next year will be even better. I have an 04 Unlimited (DD) 2" lift, 32's, made some steel for front and back, and sliders. I have a new set of axles for it here in the future 60 rear and 44 front. Bigger lift will be coming this summer. No, we have not officially met but hopefully 8th we will. We are close enough we should get together sometime.

I've been wondering if you guys got back ok. Guessing you found a trailer? Tried logging into the Jeeperz website but it's been FUBAR'd forever now. I stopped trying about a week ago!
I've actually never driven my Jeep on the trails. I am really itching to get out there, I just never have the time it seems. Plus I'd rather go with a few "experienced" people. My neighbor has a 2001 TJ completely stock and went out there last weekend but turned around b/c some areas were rutted out and he had bumped the undercarriage one too many times for his liking. Hopefully I can get him to come out again with his Jeep "under professional supervision" :lol:
I'm really hoping to be able to go on the 8th. I have a friends 30th bday party the night before in Reidsville, so I probably won't be getting home till late.
 
Hi Katrina, My jeep is still broke, may start on it next week. not a lot of time. Going camping with the scouts this weekend, 2 boys in there. Robs time was 9min 59.87 secs mine was 9min59.88 secs. Got a lot of work to do, I am clocking a 208 t-case, new 4inch springs front axle u-jonts, one broke in race. shackle reversal, some other small stuff. We will see ya on the tralls this year some time.

Katrina I was hoping to make it to the open ride at Devils Playground this weekend but I may not be able to go and a ride on the 8th sounds do-able.

Katrina, This is Scott, I was in the blue YJ that broke just past where you did, and helped you get it back together to limp out. I just got everything fixed last week, but i'm getting ready to tear it all apart again....going bigger. I dont think its going to be back together by then, but if it is i'll ride. I'll let you know closer to then.
 
Sidney, I just watched the video. You guys kicked ass on that ledge! There is another video with all 3 of us in it. Go to youtube and put in "Uharrie 4x4cross May 10, 2008 part two. I can not believe you guys were w/in .01 sec of each other. That is crazy! Hope you can get it up and running soon so you can join us out on the trails!

Scott, we tried to send your dad a like to the video we took of him on the ledge. Don't know if he ever got it. You can actually hear his axle snap at the very end of it. What sort of plans do you have w/ your jeep?

Rob, where is Devils playground? I've heard of it but never been there. Isn't that privetley owed and I think Jeremy said he would roll his rig if Ray went over the rock garden... or somthin like that??? Hope you can make it. I guess you got the XJ fixed already???

Needless to say, I didn't even make it to the second check point before I hit the tree so I was pretty disappointed that I didn't even get to the more challenging areas of the trail. Looks like Rob and Sidney did awesome though! Just let me know when you want to get together. I am usually free on Sundays.

PurpleTJChick, I see you are from Durham too. Why haven't I seen you around? If you're free on the 8th why don't you come along too???

Yeah I got married back in October. I told the wife about the day trip and I think she might be willing to come. Maybe if I'm good this week I can get her to tag along :rolleyes::lol: I'm hoping to make it too. All my neighbor said was that he went up the easy trail and the hill went up to the right and about halfway up got really rutted out so he turned around. He didn't know the name of the trail, I'm thinking maybe Falls Dam, but not for certain.
 
I'm not going to make it to Devils Playground this weekend. It is private land owned by the Mud Devils, one of these days I will make it to an open ride.

The XJ has the usual band aid(new tie rod end)on the trac bar, till I fab up a new one that will not break as easy as the one on it now...
I'm going to ask Lorie about going up on the 8th I would love to wheel soon but we do have a trip to FLA, at the end of June and driving down seems like it is going to cost less then flying and renting a car.
 
Anyone who wants to attend and ride, how about meeting at the Outpost between 9:00- 9:30am
 
Can we make it 10:00? It won't take me long to air down and disconnect the sway bar. I can try to be there a little earlier but probably not before 9:30.
 
I'm not going to make it. Damn fuel prices are killing me, not to mention it is now going to cost alot more to drive down to Fla this coming month.
