I know a while back there was a thread about this were getting married this October and are trying find a place for an outside wedding thats not going to break the bank. Thanks for any input!

Your mamas back yard! But no matter where it's going to break the bank!
You can try the Quarry at Carrigan Farms Cool place but still $$$

My wife was a wedding planner. That being said, we got married in a bar. The bartender (friend of mine) is also an ordained minister and took his break and married us there, then went back to finish his shift.

Me an my wife got married out in the 4x4 access at the obx up in corolla/carova, wasnt too bad but we had about 20 or so people....renting a place in the offseason isnt bad at all, hit me up if your interested in talkin numbers and whatnot....need to get up and drink a beer sometime. Youve got my number....or you should considering you pocketdial me everynow and then lol. Oh and CONGRATS!!!

I got married in charleston oct 18 on the beach with the light house behind us all u do is pay for pastor and the lady to set it up hell dinner cost more then gettin married and dinner was 800 bucks

+1 on the beach... Hard to beat saying I do with the sun setting on the ocean behind you. I'm a part time musician and I play a lot of beach weddings (kinda my thing it seems) They're really nice and very economical. Pick the right beach (like the uninhabited end of Sunset Island) and you'll have it all to yourself. .

I got married here in the field beside the "Marty Butte". Cold Mountain was the back drop. I had about 100 people. 30 or so of us partied for 3-4 days.

Make your reservations where ever you choose soon, because good locations for a fall wedding will fill up soon.

Congratulations! Best wishes and cheers

Were trying to stay around 5 grand
Having just gotten hitched last June, we were looking for the "inexpensive" option. There are none to be found! Even having it my moms back yard, we spent about $7k.
Weddings are big business. Even renting chairs, getting her dress, food for reception, etc., you'll hit $5k before you know it. Save your money, do it at a little chapel, have a nice reception, don't have an open bar and put your money towards your future!

I got married at Rumbling Bald in Lake Lure on the water. Not terribly expensive but not sure if you mean 5,000 for the whole thing or what?

X2 on the beach wedding. I got married on Folly Beach (outside Charleston), all we had to pay for was the permit(around $30) to have the wedding on the beach, used the lady from city hall (free) to do the ceremony. Had the reception at the house we rented. The biggest expense was rental of the house. But we stayed there all week after the wedding.:bounce2:

I'll tell you like the minister told us, "The beach is free." Well, it was in 2003, anyway. We were married near Duck. Biggest expense was the restaurant for the reception, but we had decided we wanted good food and a good party... pretty sure ours was less than 5k total, including the clothes, flowers and photographer.

yea that sounds good to me, my plan was to have it a the church i used to be a member at and have some finger food type deal and for everyone that wants to party convoy to my house for a bon fire and a good time... at least we have the photographer covered by her mom and we got a deal for a thousand bucks for everything

We got married at the quarry at Carrigan Farms and fed everybody the biggest steaks you've ever seen. It was right around $5k.

"places to get hitched"

This. If you don't mind a small "destination" wedding, this is a great idea. You can rent an amazing beach house, have the wedding out front, then kick everyone out and have your honeymoon right there. Although depending on where you have it exactly, guests may need 4x4 to get there.

My wife and I got married a couple years ago at the Southport Community building, it wasn't too expensive, and had a deck overlooking the waterway with some nice old oaks for shade. The next morning we drove up to Carova Beach for the honeymoon.

We got married the last week of September, so the house rental was off season and much cheaper, the same for you since it is going to be October. The weather was still nice enough to hang out on the beach, even went for a swim. (Well at least the first day...the second day of the honeymoon a tropical storm made its way through and it didn't stop raining for nearly a week, I think it wound up being 26" of rain over the course of 5 days)

The BIG + about a beach wedding....there are little to no decorations needed as nature takes care of that for you so you can spend a little more elsewhere.
