(please read) Can we help at Christmas? (NC4X4)

Big Thanks to Ray Mull at Carolina Energys

I called Carolina Energys and they are going to donate the first 200lbs of propane to the lady that Chip knows.

The manager goes to Tellico and watches the rock crawlers and rides his 4 wheeler around with some friends. He asked if there were pictures on here and I told him to login and look around.
 
As a token of good will, maybe we could use a few of the paypal dollars to make him an official member?
 
Paypal sent.... and I have a good dryer I will donate. It's been in my storage unit for a few months, but works great. I live in Smithfield but can get it to Raleigh where I work.
 
Anyone comming from Raleigh that could bring the dryer??

I can go get it any night and bring it to work the next day. I could meet someone at lunch but I only have an hour. That puts a limit on my delivery range, but it might help.

I love what you guys are doing. I have not met anyone from the boards yet as I am still working on my rig but one day I look forward to wheelin with great people that look out for others.

I'll be heading from Greenvill, NC to Hickory (through Raleigh) on Dec. 20th or 21st. Plenty of time to do whatever. So, if its not there by then, I'm open for putting it in the back of the truck in Raleigh and can deliver to wherever around Hickory, Conover, Morganton, etc. etc. (within reason).

Let me know if this will work.

Whatever's easier for everyone, like I said I can get it and bring it to statesville on the 19th and meet someone whenever around then, but if Rob's gonna be goin the very next day or so and can deliver it to Morganton it will probably be easier for you Chip since you won't have to drive anywhere. Just let me know if you still need me to bring it or if Rob's just gonna go ahead and take it the whole way, whatever's easiest.
 
Rob, Ricky, either one will work for me. Might be easier if Rob brought simply because of not trying to meet at a certain place at a certain time. But as I said I will work with either of you to pick it up. You two decide, and tell me where to be when, and we can go from there.

I'm headed to Hickory to drop off my dog at the parent's before I head to the ECU bowl game in Alabama. Leaving the 22nd from Hickory. So, I'm in no rush on the 20th or 21st as long as I can leave from Hickory the morning of the 22nd to head to Alabama.

I'm assuming I'll be driving through Raleigh the 21st. Will that work??? We can work out the time if that day works for you.

Might be easier for me to take it since I'll be going all the way to Hickory, at least and can deliver if necessary. No need to load/unload more than once if necessary.

I'll bring it by unless someone can get it there substantially earlier.

I work on Capital Blvd at Leith Toyota. I can drive my truck any day and we can slide it into yours. if you're coming through on I-40, I could meet you closer to the highway so as not to slow you down much on your trip.
 
Just curious, has there been any thought to a christmas tree, know if they have one?
i'd think it should be low on the priority scale, but surely amongst the crew here one could be rounded up? Hell when I lived in Boone we'd just nab one out of the back yard.

My parents used to do the exact same thing when I was a kid. Funds were tight, so we used what worked. Serves the same purpose.

I really prefer to go out and cut my own, but its hard to find someplace like that here in eastern NC...

Anyone near Fayettevill take my cash?

Andy Do you have a way of paying you other than paypal? My account still isnt working. Or is their anyone near fayetteville that will take my cash/check and then paypal it to andy? Thanks for the help. I was going to slow mail it out but then my paypal acount was supposed to be working and now it isn't. It is also to late to mail it I think.
 
UPDATE - The sick Grandfather passed away on Saturday morning. The kids are not well with it. When i called earlier today, the oldest boy answered the phone and was upset.

We are doing very well on donations, thanks to all. Last minute stuff will be appreciated.

Kimberly went shopping last night and bought them clothing and some cd's/dvd's. I am working on some toys and things today, and tomorrow its off to COSTCO for some groceries and household items. I think that we are going to deliver sunday or monday. If anyone wants to help and meet them, that would be fine. I am not sure if the kids know what is happening yet. I will ask the mom.

Update on this end of the State.
The family we are helping here has 2 full 100lb propane cylinders, so the space heaters won't be needed like they have been. Thanks Andy for the phone call..
