Pocket Knives

i carry the kershaw ken onion leek 1660. the best knife i have had to date, it takes and holds an edge well. i have the straight edge version.
This was a great, very sharp and useful blade. I loved it, nice and thin as well. I used it daily until I thought I lost it (found it later) and bought this, Benchmade Emissary 470:

I love this blade. I find it easier to handle than the Kershaw, as a flat spine helps with more aggressive cutting. Also very light.

I usually carry this small one. And if TSA allows knives this will also qualify.

Locking blades are specifically prohibited, which means we're left with Swiss Army type knives. Any good non-locking options?

Is that emissary spring assist opening?

I wasn't going to touch this thread, but I've daily carried knives for a long time now and have a few opinions. Opinion 1, any crkt knife made is a giant piece of harbor freight shit. I used to think it was just the m16 so I later bought a $90 crkt and it was junk too. Sorry if that offends someone, but you've probably also had to piece together your knife and crap blade a few times already and know it to be true. 2, Kershaw has some of the best customer service in the world and they are great (American made knives) people, but they put out some ridiculous designs. I for a long time thought the leek was awesome, until I got tired of sending them back for broken tips. It's just not a strong blade, but it is a compact/lightweight knife. A lot of the stronger blades they make are in giant ridiculous knives that you can't fit into your pocket. 3, Everyone knows that benchmade makes great knives but most people can't justify $120+ for a pocket knife...and that would just be a base model. 4, spring assist is certainly nice, but a good thumbhole or stud is equally as usable and also typically allows for one hand closing too which is even nicer.. 5, If you use your knife for anything more than stripping wires or picking teeth, a tanto blade is where it's at hands down. 5, SOG is another great US made brand, the mini x-ray is by far my favorite knife for the money and their customer service is great too. That would be my choice..if it were me.

I've been carrying a Kershaw Ken Onion Blur with a half serrated Tanto blade for the last several years and it is far and away the best knife I've ever carried. I've carried more expensive knives for sure, but none that were better. I started carrying it years ago when I was doing some tower climbing and needed a good knife that I could operate one handed and I quickly became addicted to the spring assisted opening. The first Kershaw I had was a Chive, and that is a nice knife too, but it was a little small for my needs. The rubber texture in the Blurs handle give it a really good sure grip even when my hands are greasy. I've lost two of them over the years and always went back for the exact same model.

Same thing I carry, just wore mine out...blade had been sharpened beyond the Serrations....pocket clip was bent all to hell etc. I bet its one of the best knives I've ever had, especially for the price. I think it lasted me around two years and never broke the tip off somehow, which is an act of god or something. Everyone who know me knows how my knives get used and abused, from landscaping to gasket scraping to cooking while camping. Damn, know that I've talked it up I really need to go get another one. Currently I have a cheapo frost cuttlery flying falcon clip point in my pocket (found it while cleaning my tolbox) and a crkt ken onion straight blade Jon got me for xmas from snapon on my side.

I bought the exact same thing about a month ago. Damn good knife so far.

This Gerber fully automatic was given to me as a Christmas gift about 5 years ago by my marine brother in law. I will never part with it. It means as much to me as my glock. The blade is S30V which is suppose to be the best of the best. Now being this was a gift, I had to look it up. Retailed for $238 a few years ago. Down to $199 now. Limited to fire, law enforcement and military only. Glad I have 1 covered

I like my Kershaw, er, uh, Snap On :D So far its been one of my favorites. Its big enough I don't have to worry with cutting my fingers off trying to use it and is sleek enough to fit in my pocket without taking up too much space. The blade has stayed sharp for a decent amount of time until I let some people borrow it

For dress, I carry a small US made Old Timer. been happy with it so far. :)
