Possible to have a nice wedding for under 5k?

he says to the guy who will be on his honeymoon. :D

Baha!

I vote for Savannah also. Very cool place to go! The beach is only 20 min away at Tybee Island. Get a nice hotel on Bay St. and walk everywhere downtown. Go on a haunted tour. Walk around and drink beer anywhere you want and repeat!

I vote Savannah over Charleston. So much more charm than Charleston.

That would get my vote as well. I had never been to Charleston until this year. Everyone ALWAYS told me, if I loved Savannah, I'd dig Charleston...didn't have the same charm to me and too commercialized. Like the difference between going to Myrtle Beach and Corolla. Stayed at the Francis Marion...very disappointed in the room for the price tag.

I'll give a vote for Charleston......I might be a little biased because my brother lives there and we mooch off him :D. Lots of good eats besides all the touristy places downtown, nice beaches, and lots to do. I'm think they do have some cheap cruises that leave out of Charleston that you might want to look at.

So my fiancé and I are searching for someone who can marry us... we do not regularly attend a church, but the lady wants someone "Holy". Me personally? I'd rather pay to have someone ordained that I know and have them marry us.
Anyone have any experience with getting someone ordained? or going about choosing someone to do the ceremony when you don't attend a church?

Keep in mind... all that matters is who signs the document. Where/when/with whom you have the ceremony is irrelevant in the eyes of the state.

So a very viable option is to plan to go to the courthouse the day before and just have the docs signed there by the Justice. Then go have whatever ceremony you want, led by whomever you want.

Will probably just do that!
Wish I could get someone awesome to do it. like Vern Troyer :)

Shit adds up quick, we had a simple wedding and cost about 9k by the time we were done and really was a headache trying to get everything set up and tore down. If we would have it to do again would have went to a chapel in vegas said the words and partied with rest of money we saved lol

I think stone mt state park will allow weddings. they have an incredible base view of the rock formation and a very unique 1800's home place with barns out buildings and log house. not much of an area for a reception on site unless you use the camp ground area though. guess it depends on how large or elaborate. I got married in a 1800's church arbor.

I've won many a ribbons and feasted on plenty of Center Bar b q under that old arbor. I didn't know that's where yall got hitched at though. That's very cool.

Brooke and I got married in the old church at Tanglewood.

Try Tanglewood Park outside Winston Salem. Terry the old hot dog guy might be able to help you out.

The ''Barn'' will cost you an arm and a leg. If you've ever been to the Festival of lights, that's the place you stop along the way for concessions and crafts. The Manor house is really nice, but will cost 2 arms and 3 legs. We were married in the old church in Tanglewood. I never knew what it costed though, but it must have been less expensive than the other 2 places.
