Post up your weekend project!!

More like last week’s projects....

Removed all the laminate downstairs except in our bedroom, decided to paint the walls while the flooring was up, @ramjo came down and me, him and dad put down the new floors and he patched the hole in the ceiling from the leaking water heater....

Might as well paint the house while we were at it....

....and I made a new house number sign for my wife...

Few post above fast forward to 2020. We had some impressive fish raised from little ones. Like 12 to 16 inch solid yellow, orange koi. A few fancy tails and a small mix of variety shades.
When the weather got cool to cold the water always clears up like a magic trick. The blooms I fight stop and the fish are bright and highly visible. Enter preditors in the form of cranes. Every single one got ate!
Some of those fish probably where worth a few hundred each! Today's project revealed another reason for the easy hunting. No hiding spots. The Water Lilly plant had completely evicted the fish from the hiding spot I built them. I never new this stuff had grown so thick and taken over my "deep" end of the pond.

That's mostly roots and plant matter. The leaves served as a massive root bed.
We have very large trees in our yard.

This portion is entirely root mass.

I'm near done here. The mass was 4 by 4 and grown through to cinder blocks with a old piece of stone counter top on them for a shelf. The whole entangled mess was so dense I used a hatchet to cut it apart. Darn heavy.

Cleaner restart. Little more hiding area. The first was the darker cover only. Gonna have to study up on Lilly pruning. Wanting to control my algea blooms better too.
Hopefully my feet did not damage the liner. Next is cleaning out my converted sand filter.
I really want to bury a wide shallow septic tank half. I used to make molds specifically for Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia that was a fairly wide profile compared to NC tanks. Would make a really durable pond.
Another thing I am gonna look into is some sort of pond cleaning trash pump. Mucking sucks and debris are not avoidable in my yard.

Love the doors. I didn't realize how much of an upgrade$$$ real wood doors were until I built my house 2 yrs ago. I remember thinking back on my parents house like, shit all their doors are wood! Mom and dad are ballers and I had no idea 😂

Burned off an disced in the sunflower patch. Just waiting for warmer weather to plant the seeds.

Planted a corner bed of sunflowers. I had decent luck with the pollinator mix from lowes at my old house. We'll see how the TSC burpee brand works.

Finally got around to putting up the dinner bell I was given for Christmas. Me and everyone within a 1/2 mile radius already regret hanging it. My 4 yr old has rung it probably 20 times since lunch. The fancy solid 12awg wire pull cord will probably go missing tomorrow.

I like that outdoor sink set up. Had to do a double take and look for casters.

Thanks. It's a must have if you're outside much. It hooks up to the spigot just to the right outside of the picture. I got the sink and faucet out of the scrap metal bin at the dump. Looked brand new. I presume it got ripped out of a spec house. I like to hunt and it's a perfect setup for cleaning birds.
