I'm not one to ask for these, as I'm not usually into this stuff, but my grandma passed on Thursday and I'm up here in NY with my mom and she's doing well the last few days have gone well minus the typical family squabbling, but I don't think it has set in quite yet for her.

We all went to services today and the pastor spoke about my gram a little. I learned my mom had added me to the prayer list during my heart surgery last year (I was still on the list today must be they knew I needed a little extra ;) ) so everyone was happy to see or meet me.

I feel like having a few extra friends keeping my mom in their thoughts would help a bit even if she really doesn't know any of my NC family.

Thanks for listening...

Prayers out man. . . I know how you feel but, you never know what will give comfort in these times. Stay strong and be there for your mom.

You got it man...Prayers sent out to your family. I am so sorry for your loss.
Give me a shout when you get back or sooner if you need anything.

John

Prayers going up....Sorry to hear of your loss.

Sorry for your loss, take care of your mom. prayers sent.

Huge Thanks guys!

I appreciate the kind words, thoughts and prayers. Mom is doing well just spending time with her.

Tomorrow is the wake followed by burial Tuesday morning.

Lots of random thoughts and memories in my head right now...

As I learned not to long ago, some people step up and other step out during times of need. My gram has lived her whole life here and many folks have helped in many unexpected ways. (I grew up in this area also)

The cemetery doesn't usually open until mid May (It snowed here Saturday AM go figure !) but as soon as they heard of my grams passing, they called the family and are preparing her spot tomorrow and opening up a little early for us.

My gram has always been a solid reliable person in my life someone I could talk to even if my folks weren't around or keen to hear what I had to say. I stayed with her for a while when I had hip surgery and needed to be looked after. Someone you name your kids after, she will be missed by many.

Mike,
Know that mine and Sonya's prayers will be lifting you up during this time. Very sorry for your loss, Grandmas are very special and irreplaceable.

Sending one up Mike. If you need anything just give Kat and I a shout. Sounds like a nice lady, and the world could use a few more of them that's for sure. Sorry to hear about her passing, just cherish the memories you have of her, and take what you've learned from her and pass it on.

My thoughts are with her. I'll have the "good Q" send out a prayer.. :)
