Eh...I've already made this one...I wanna see if I can break it...I need a 14 bolt one now though...I might just break down and run that stupid 1350 or whatever it is in the back. I swear if it breaks... ...I'm still running my ORIGINAL 1985 4Runner (yes it used to be a Runner) at every joint...no break... :smokin:

I hoped this post would have contained a picture of a welded up shaved 14 bolt...however, stick welding with my 1972 millermatic 35 is a no go...I don't think I suck that bad at stick welding as I did it perfectly fine 6 months ago on a different machine...we'll blame it on the machine... time...

Pretty slack day today....got teh 14 bolt welded up (see...told ya it was the machine) and ground somewhat smooth and flat...ended up using some nickle rod er something...I welded it like OldmanClemmons told me to so even if it's the wrong way to do it...it's now right, cause OldmanClemmons said so...I'll tap some holes tomorrow for the cover...

...however...this shaved 14bolt might be for sale come Monday...all these guys around here trying to get me to do the 9" center 14 bolt spindle full float stuff...I'm reading on it right now...so I guess what I'm trying to say is...
For Sale: 1 shaved 14bolt housing...

I am not sure if you will be able to make a Toyota flange for the 14B. HA doesn't make one because they said the 14B pinion nut is too large to fit through the Toyota flange. I guess you could open up the center of the flange to fit a 1 1/2 socket. Then build a spacer ring to fit the larger opening for DS allignment.

That's what I had in mind if I were to build it...but...it's a 1350 (right?)...so I'll give it a chance...

Yeah, it's a 1350. It isn't a bad joint, it is just the straps are weak. It can be changed to ubolt style by milling(grinding) the back of the ears so the nuts can fit back there.

How much clearance did you gain by shaving the 14 bolt. Would you consider doing another for some cash and  .

I love how some people pick apart every little detail of someone elses project, especially before its finished. You dont think those tacs will hold? :flipoff2:

Looks sweet so far. How is the progress on that front 60 coming?

The 60 is laying in the corner in the same shape it was in the last posted picture of it...but I have all the parts (minus a shorter shaft)...

call it good lets go. Done by sunday! Its your new dead line.

Whatcha got going on with the uppers? some kind of double-triangulated-triangulation? Pretty wild looking, it's cool...

Looks good, though based on where it appears the uppers attach, it appears that you're going to get a bunch of anti-squat with that - not that it's necessarily a bad thing...

Since you brought that up Rich want to explain why? I am still trying to understand what causes anti squat.
