I'm registered and paid up for the KOH 2013 EMC race, and for those that wheel with me, know I invest as much in armor-all as I do in coilovers :D. Being that most racers are out there with trailer queens and mine being a daycare pick up, grocery getting, mall crawling, daily driver- I thought would embrace that fact a little and have some fun with it.

Here is our kick off video for the race. Look for a build thread soon along with some more movies. :burnout:

I heard Jay's the only one that's going to be driving his race car to California.

No word yet on whether or not he's going to drive it back to North Cackalacky.

That would be my wife ;), she had a good time cutting me off over and over again. What is even funnier is that I was driving around with my fire suit and helmet on up and down the parking lot. People didn't know what to think, and then when they saw me yelling at the Hummer, they were WTF is happening here?!?!?!.

I am this >< close to doing that. How epic would it be to drive in the race rig 2500 miles to KOH? It is perfectly capable of doing it in my opinion and would be an amazing story, but I don't have the time to make that trip and spend a week in Cali for the event. Driving it home..... that will be a different issue. Right now the goal is to just drive it onto the trailer.... after a quick trip to the mall. :flipoff2:
 
Trust me: by the time you get to Oklahoma, it won't be funny anymore. :beer:

It'd be pretty awesome to have updates from the trip out there while wearing the fire suit and helmet, driving the tow rig!! :D
 
so a serious question?

Do you plan to race to win or race to be in the back and finish?

the answer will directly affect how your jeep looks when the race is over :)

I've competed in 6 races so far and have been fortunate enough to bring home some trophies. I'm not going to California for a Sunday drive through the desert. Hell, we were blasting our rental through Johnson Valley sand at the 2012 race. Do I expect to beat cuirent EMC champ John Currie in the $100,000 SAVVY jeep? No. Am I competing for a top 10 finish? Hell yes.

Savvy is going to run the MOD class this year.
