Stihl-1 Shin-0
Cutting through an old pine tree that apparently was used as a fence post and had barb wire in it :(

So whats the rundown of the situation? Chain kicked back? Barbed wire stuck to chain? Were you working with the tree on the ground or standing?

As the tree was falling I pulled out the saw and it kicked back hard and went into my shin. Saw the barbwire in the cut but didnt really feel much so I made a few more cuts then noticed red on my pants....

The crazy part is there isn't a tear in my pants.

This is probably why it isn't way more gnarly, the pants basically absorbed the sharp bit, and you just got a hella bad skin tear/rub

Trump train passing by the site today.

saws are no joke and it can happen fast as you know i had it happen twice where my pants looked like that. luckily both times it wasnt bad. one just touched my pants the second time it pilled just enough skin to bleed... thats when i decided 100 chaps was cheaper than ER and surgery.

Yep, now gonna lose a week of work and gonna have to stay out of the ocean next week on vacation.. I'm just glad it wasn't worse.. Now to find some chaps small enough to fit my scrawny ass.

Only took 4 f*cking months to finally get the wife’s expedition in the body shop after getting side swiped. Apparently I didn’t know what a new pathfinder looked like, but this wasn’t it...but not a bad comp’d rig from insurance. Now for the fun to get my deductible back. Lady that side swiped my wife was on a test drive and the dealer says they’re not liable, the lady’s insurance says they’re not liable.

Technically it's the LADY that's liable, and her problem to figure out where the money wil lcome from to pay for it.
But in reality its your problem trying to squeeze that turnip. You may have court in your future.

If it came down to court, probably not worth my time to recover the $500 deductible...more the principle it’s $500 I didn’t have to spend. Guess it depends on how the next steps transpire to determine how petty I’ll be.

Only if she signed some paperwork saying she would be. Otherwise the vehicle is owned by the dealership and they had their license plate on the vehicle so it would be the dealership's insurance.

He has a $1000 minimum
Excuse me sir, those were 2019 rates. With all the "protest" requests I've been very busy in 2020 and have had to raise rates. PM for current pricing

Criminally I am sure you are right.
However I would bet that any decent attorney could successfully argue that the driver was negligent resulting in harm to @UTfball68 and therefor would be civilly liable.
Who's insurance really doesnt matter regarding civil liability. It comes down to the negligent actor and then they are responsible. Once found responsible then insurance - if applicable- covers their responsibility. Whose insurance varies by state.

You sound like an insurance sales man. I hate insurance companies and my wife works at Blue Cross.....

This was exactly my point.
The insurance company is just an actor on behalf of the person. The company isn't liable, the person is liable, and the insurance covers the cost of the liability - or not, depending on what they policy is that was agreed to.

This is why its a big headache when the companies don't just go along with things amicably... you then have to deal with with a person in court.
