Random pic thread.

‘08 Tacoma Double cab, original motor, trans, rear end. Was a service tech ride before I got it, serviced regular, I’ve had it for 5 years, only thing I’ve done is service and front hub bearings.
It’s not pretty, but it’s still rock solid.

All that reclaimed lumber must have cost a fortune!

Pretty sure it hasn't been reclaimed yet  It was told to us that it was built in the 30s, maybe 40s, but I have no idea. Her mom is coming to root around in it this weekend so maybe she will find something cool before it finds its way into a dump truck when we clear for our actual farmhouse.

So after having intermittent issues all summer our well finally shitteth the beddeth!
The culprit: 1/2 hp Gould 115v pump stamped 1986

Got everything disconnected and shutoff to the house. Killed the power at the breaker and verified with the multi-meter. LOOSTENED DID NOT REMOVE the 4 bolts on the cap seal. Have it some wiggling and prying and it came loose. There was no safety rope so just hauled it up by hand by the pipe praying the hole way. Wound up being 81’ from the cap to the top of the pump. County records said 68’ go figure.

The original setup had so discs or torque arrestor so I added those after I verified the pipe and wiring was still in good shape.

Crimped, liquid tape, heat shrink, and water proof taped the connection.

Put it back in the hole and also rebuilt the “elbow” cause it was about 50% clogged. Yes I know the wiring needs attention and I’ll get to it but I’m glad to say we have water again and all told it took about 6hrs including 2 trips to the hardware for parts. We now have a new pump, pressure switch, and pressure tank in the last 8 months. I’m hoping for no problems for the next lot of years!

I'd take a picture of the early 1900s farmhouse on our land but all you can see is trees. I'm going to make a path to it with the excavator and mulcher and see whats inside before I invite @jeepinmatt over to rid me of it

I was standing on the white line of the road when I took the pic, if it was deeper on the property I'd just let it be.

Must have been another Post, but I recall JeepinMatt praying for a better commute on I-485. You need to re-up it!
I heard there was an accident out near Providence Rd/485, this morning, but would be 2 hours before I got there. So, 2 hours later, here I'm looking at the 70 MPH sign [Sun's blinding], as I'm doing 5 MPH. O, & the accident is on the opposite side of the Interstate, & HP has the road clear! I get on to where I was going, & come Back 1 1/2 hours later, on the accident side. The accident is Gone, but 2 abandoned sit on the side of the road. I get to Stop, & go, as we yoo-yoo, for the next mile! Fricking Charlotte!:flipoff:

Here is a google maps image of ours from the road. Must have been 10 years ago because its barely visible now even if your looking for it.

Find some hippies that want to reclaim the wood and you can save yourself on that dump truck

Looks just like a house about 10 miles from me, in the country. Seems most old houses looked the same. And yet most of them stand there, until they fall in. So many talk reclaimed lumber, but I don't know of anyone that buys it! I once looked inside a house like that, which even had the un-square slabs under the tin roof. They just ran trees through & cut 5/8" or so, flat. Never cut the sides. Many Mansions, would pay dearly for that, but it went to the dump!

What part of “I ain’t go there” are you at?
