That’s flying the new section up. The pipe to the left is the piece you’re seeing the bottom up view of from the earlier post. (Light at the end of the tunnel)View attachment 332425View attachment 332426View attachment 332427This is our steam compressor, 4500 hp Atlas-Copco @jeepinmatt and the “turbine twisty part” about as close as you can get to it without possibly damaging the IGV’s (seen in the more distanced picture).
There was a lot more Teflon lined pipe changed, along with valves, and pre-heaters, and other stuff dealing with exotic metals that I’m sure no one here cares about, but if so, let me know and I’ll take some more when I go back and explain our setup a little more in-depth.
Lol you want inconel, monel, titanium, al6x9, name it and I’ll get you some good pics.More please. And Inconel is some cool stuff!
Hell yeah, I hear ya Mr. Deep pocketsInconel 625 makes great headers for race engines too.
Industrial contracting is super interesting and a ton of fun, but man I do not miss shutdown work.We had a shutdown at work so it was all hands on deck.
It snowed a good bit and the high was in the 20’s for a couple of days.Industrial contracting is super interesting and a ton of fun, but man I do not miss shutdown work.

Yeah, bet he did, I skipped school a few times, for similar reasons. My dad is a retired pipe fitter, he worked on Davis Bessy, Nuclear plant, on lake Erie, I got a couple tours, plus skipped to see a helicopter set RTUs on a 1/4 mile long warehouse. That is where I got my first tow strap, pilot gave me two straps, after we buzzed the boats on the lake. [emoji1787]I imagine my father in law saw a lot of this stuff when he was working. Retired boilermaker from NE Ohio working in the nuke plants up there. He’s got a lot of stories.
As an expert on how to "get things done" I'd say that's a bit close unless you have intent.Toeing the line between super festive, and burning the house down.. View attachment 332432
