Random pic thread.

Our stuff like that (carbon) is usually fab’d up for us by Jack A Farrior out of Farmville, NC. Our big stainless and monel stuff, that’s a different story. It comes from all sorts of places.

Edit: Schoffner out of Knoxville, Tn made that and the cross over.
@rockcity used to work for Farrier back in the day

What is all that?
Main vessel is a crystallizer. The pipe coming from the top going down is a steam/vapor line going to the vapor washer, clean steam/vapor goes into a 4500 hp turbine steam compressor and then comes back up and over to a heater chest. If you want more info, pm me. I figure most people don’t want to hear all of it haha

LOL. That was ages ago. Spent 5 years working there, most of my time out in the field doing millwright and iron work.
They’ve done a good bit of work for us. They built the silos, put a screener in, removed the screener, cut down a silo for us after it got sucked in/crushed like a beer can during a bad bridge over incident and more. They’ve had some good guys work for them.

Rolling the 18 speed again all day today. At least you see some cool stuff.

I started off as a helper, then welder, and left as a foreman to go back to school and finish my undergrad. I see some of the guys around every so often but they are mostly all new field crews except for a few.

What the fawk is this garbage?
I haven’t eaten a hot pocket in probably 3 years. I haven’t eaten a single hot pocket in probably 15 years.
Hangry, skipped lunch, big dinner planned short time and they are in the freezer so why not

I want to hear it all of your willing to share. I work in coal fired power house at Eastman, I love seeing other industries.

Hell yeah you’re just a little down the road from us. I know a few guys that work there. I thought about putting in there once upon a time. I’ll do a write up later and post it up. Left work early to enjoy the sunshine and drink a few beers before pulling hell this weekend on my scheduled 12 hr shift. I’ll tag you and @ghost i think in it. @WARRIORWELDING you want in to?

#metoo

I love learning about different things. So it’s a steam power generator?
Negative. Steam is a by product of ours. We clean the steam and send it through a compressor to generate more heat. (Pressurize=heat decompress=cold). Steam cools down to hot condensate (pressurized boiling water) and is sent through pre-heaters (titanium heat exchanges) to heat up incoming material and cools down more. It then goes through a cooling loop which is 3 cooling towers (plus a chiller on hot days/when needed) and is used as seal water for pumps, cooling water, and wash lines. Whatever we don’t use goes back out to the well fields and is used later. I’ll go more in depth later.

Edit: We’re pretty damn close to a nuclear power plant though. Except no fission. That’s where our stuff gets weird.
