Stopped at Lowes in Lenoir before I headed up the mountain yesterday. Saw this gem again. No, it's not a jeep. No, it's not a hummer. No, it's not a Japanese mini truck with some sweet mods. It's a dang golf cart with a bunch of plastic junk bolted to it.

Then coming back down the mountain last night, decided to stop in Lenoir for supper. I've seen the billboard on 321 for Piccolo wood fired pizza and Italian restaurant for what seems like years, so finally decided to check it out. Got there and I wasn't sure I was even at the right place. From the street it looked like a junky antique store that was closed for the night. (not my pics, just for reference)

Once we went inside, it still looked like a junky antique store that was closed for the night! :(

The whole experience was just weird and I felt out of place. And the lighting consisted of mixed color fluorescent tubes from 1990, of which about 1/3 or less was actually working, so that didn't help anything. $65 for 2 larges and a kids pizza didn't really align with the decor either. The kids pizza and regular crust pizza came out absolutely piping hot, with no pizza spatula. Both were cut into squares and it was just difficult to serve and eat. And if course this was to be dished onto thin, unwaxed paper plates which quickly becane soggy. I ordered the deep dish stuffed pizza, and it took a bit longer (they run it through the oven twice). When it finally arrived, it took me a minute to even figure out what I was looking at.

It was the best of the 3 pizzas, but still I'd only rate it about 6-7 outta 10. Overall it was the weirdest restaurant I've ever been in and I have no plans to return.

One of these days I’ll remember to contribute to the Vittles thread with what we partially traded for.

Came across this digging for another picture in my files.

I think 556 Productions made it for Hell Hound Apparel and that both companies are out of business now.

Shame. 556 Productions had some awesome art work.

It wouldn't surprise me. Especially if someone has been going there a long time, and has a certain level of nostalgia about it. We very much felt like outsiders, and I don't feel that way except at REALLY fancy places.

I have always wondered about that place when we go to Lenior every year. Sounds like we aren't missing much.

It's worth experiencing at least once, haha! I left out the part about the guy sitting near the register when we walked in, who got up and walked over to us and said "you'ins never been here before?" "you'ins getcha a menu and sit down whereever ya like and once you'ins figger out whacha wont, you'ins c'mon back up here an order and well brang it out to you'ins". And to top it off, this is the shirt he had on:
