If it's really hilly there, depending on the cutter brand you might be better off disconnecting the top link while mowing.

Hilly-ish....the unexpected ruts/divits are what tend to cause me the most heartburn.

I am running the deck height pretty high at the moment. To do that without the toplink, I would expect I raise up the rear pivot wheel a couple positions to keep it all level and stable?

I appreciate the advice, will try it out tonight!

You can also replace the top link with a piece of chain. It will allow you to pick up the bush hog and still let it pivot up in the rear when needed.
