Random pic thread.

When I moved here, I was kind of banking on that concept. The Red Wings were playing the Carolina Hurricanes in the Stanley Cup Finals in like 2002 and I thought I'd finally get to see the Wings play live since "nobody's going to give a damn about hockey in North Carolina". Boy, was I wrong. Tickets were as expensive here as there. And the fan base is as rowdy as a NASCAR race.
Hockey is the sport I like the most, though I don't look for games, if its on TV I'll watch it but I don't schedule my time to watch a game. I don't pay for ESPN so I can get games either. I'll probably watch 4 or 5 regular season games plus the Stanley Cup.

In person is the best way. I used to go down to FL to watch the Wings play Tampa then the next game would be the Panthers within a couple days. We would catch both games, those were always a fun trips.

There is a reason Hurricanes/PNC are call “The loudest house in the NHL”

A blonde squirrel showed back up. We usually have a couple running around, but haven't in a while.

Can I just pick off the flaky parts and reinstall these or should I sand them smooth first and what kind of sandpaper should I use?lol

I'd run them like that. The grooves reduce metal-to-metal contact, lowering friction. Adds 50HP. Science of metals and stuff.

Wife and the youngins went to Bitty and Beaus in Winston the other day. It's apparently a coffee shop that focuses on hiring folks with special needs and disabilities. Munchkin picked out this shirt and clearly loves it lol.

For those following along at home, that phone would cost $3,868.58 in Jan 2023 dollars. And thats a $3350 camcorder.
And all if it and more can be had in one tidy lil package and fit in you pocket for under $500 and a monthly subscription.

Except all those towers have now changed frequency spec to GSM, LTE, etc.
Doesn't matter how strong your radio is if there's no signal it can understand .

I remember getting signal at Uwharrie in the early 2000's with my Nokia 3390. Was kinda a big deal since there were no towers for a LOOOOOONG way.

Yes and no. Most smartphones are using fractal antennas inside. The design of each model dictates why one model on the same carrier will have more bars than another. Our s22 gets less signal than our s22+

Iirc

not only that, but those phones were analog, and there is basically no analog network remaining.

Those phones were 3 watt radios...they had power to reach out and grab a tower, or grow a tumor.
