Reminds me that I need to get on your list for that 11.5aam you rebuilt a couple years back. Wheel bearing went bad, got hot and started smoking. Now it's leaking from the pinion and both wheels ends and is full of glitter.
:(

Punch the coordinates into your GPS anytime. I'll get you in line bud

Went to the beach a couple weeks ago. Twas a great time. I need to find a job where I can live down there half the summer while the kids are out of school.

Lots of crawler courses were built.

Also happened to be at the same street as the "maze man" so that occupied us for about an hour each day.

Hated to leave, but all good things must come to and end I suppose.

As much as I hated to leave the beach, it was immediately followed by a long weekend at Hyco Lake, so that helped soften the blow. :D

We played some creative Jenga on a rainy day...

Also visited Dan Daniel Park on the Dan River in Danville. I'm not sure who names this stuff, but its clearly Dan's mom. Anyway, on the way there, you pass the great grocery cart graveyard, which fascinates me.

Hyco Lake exists because of the Duke Roxboro plant, and at 2500 megawatts its one of the biggest in the US.

If you're in the area, an absolute must have is the breakfast burrito from the Concord Grill. It's a hole in the wall kinda place, but the food is second to none. They have some of the best burgers I've ever had too.

Took "my son's" drone and got some nice shots too. Interesting to see it from a new perspective.

Had to work for 2 weeks straight through the weekend to pay for all this fun. So the next adventure was a lot more low budget. We decided to take the kids on their first semi-primitive camping trip (it was still car camping...) Of course my oldest did NOT want to go, to the point of balling up on the couch, crying. :shaking: I reminded him he said the same about camping at the Uwharrie G2G a year and a half ago, but he didn't budge. So I continued about making a list and packing. About a half hour later, I pulled up to the basement on the SXS to load some gear, and found this...

He was inventorying sleeping bags and teaching little brother how to pack 😍

We headed up to Linville and Pisgah to enjoy some nice weather and spent Saturday night off of Old Nc105 on the west side of Linville Gorge. There weren't many campsites left when we arrived, but we found a nice big flat one that was back off the road a bit, so that worked great for the kids to run around and attempt to injure themselves.

After setting up camp, we headed over to Wiseman's View. This place never ceases to take my breath away!

Went back to camp, ate some supper, and then headed up the road to try and catch the sunset. Only place we could find was pretty overgrown, but simple problems need simple solutions...

We were piling back in the van when a nice Gladiator rolled by pulling an offroad trailer/camper, with none other than @xjay at the helm! Always neat to see a familiar face at a chance passing in the middle of nowhere.

The next day we packed up and headed out. Stopped for lunch at a nice campsite that had freed up.

From there we headed to Huntfish Falls, which was an absolute blast!

Definitely a nice way to finish off father's day.

And for the blooper reel, I blame the fact it was old, but maybe it was the contents!

Once it’s installed back in lift, it might move under its own power for a little while. Enough to get on roll back and out the door…
It came in with no axles because the diff was locked up. (Pinion bearing frag)

This is the homestead of Johannes Leinbach in Oley, PA, my family's patriarch, from when he came to this country in 1723. My mom, dad, and I standing in front. It's pretty wild to think about....

We had about 175 family members from all over the country in Reading this past week for our tricentenial family reunion.

Imagine trying to take any kind of uphill with this.
Downhill.... hell yes!
Until you need to stop

Actually check out the hydraulic disk brake front. I'm sure there's one on the back too. But yeah. Will need some serious gear reduction to get up any grade.

yeah but there's nothing assisting that hand pump. Just your grip pushing that big ass piston.

You could science up some some sort of contraption to draw vacuum off of you, huffing, and puffing, while peddling that monstrosity around to create a sort of boosted brake cylinder
