Whole lot of hate and anger at PCL Construction. That's expected when you ruin 50,000 people's vacations. Some spent thousands with no refund. I read there's already a lawsuit started against them. Should've dialed 811.

I was wondering that myself...I primitive camp at Oregon Inlet most the time anyway...so would I have been evacuated??? If so, why???

oh it's simple, tourist can't call 911 and get support on how to remove a splinter and apply a bandaid cause they have no way to charge there cell phone.

Only for non-residents. They probably just want to diminish the number of people around, get everybody who doesn't have something to do the f&ck out of the way.
Keep in mind, no power means also all the local restaurants will be closed, and most shops/stores will have a hard time operating. Will have to use just good old cash, or checks. No working stoplights. So I'm sure it's just to make things easier for locals, not having to deal w/ as much chaos.

yea...I was mainly referring to Ocracoke. No stoplights there, and miles of empty beach, and primitive campgrounds.

But yes, the small towns on 12 on the mainland would be a bit more hectic
