food lion is still in business?!?!

Yeah...HQ’d about 8 minutes from my house. Their corporate office was my first job out of school. They had just finished laying off folks with 20-40 years experience with no degrees, but making 60-100k...to replace them with kids like me, fresh out of school, but making 30-35k. They’ve been bought/sold/merged to some extent across all their banners about 3-4 times since I was there 7-8 years ago. Have tons of friends and in laws afraid for their jobs again.

Not old enough to remember when they were Food Town, but I do know where one of the "original" Food Towns was that supposedly caused them change their name to Food Lion, and why they chose Food Lion instead of another name. Spent close to ten years working for Food Lion. Liked the job, but the company was going to hell in a hand basket IMO.

Nah...before my time. But my wife’s grandmother was one of the original investors and Ralph Ketner was a long time friend.

Spotted a Sweet resto-ed Scout today, in Cornelius. He & his Dog, ended up traveling south on Hwy 21, for a ways. Then I lost him. Body looked something like a Champagne color, with white hardtop. Maybe a 3" lift, with 32/33" AT tires.
