Eagle Rare is good stuff.
Tried Blade and Bow once after a friend raved about it. I am convinced I got a bad bottle, it was like drinking kerosene. I eventually polished it off with mixers (ginger ale)...shocked me cause me and this dude usually have similar taste in bourbons.

Ive yet to bump into Blantons...want to try it.
I have a bottle of blanton's right now. You should come by sometime @palmetto zuk and I are in the shop.

I decided to retire a few of the antique hand tools I've been using for years and put a few on display in the shop, mostly for my own enjoyment. I don't have the wall space for a few hundred tools, nor do I want to take away from my arsenal of trustees. Here's a few of my favorites. The heavy hitters that go back to the 40s and 50s. New Britain, Bonney, Herbrand, Williams and Proto Challenger.

It would be cool to arrange them into some form of sign or artwork, spell out USA etc

Good stuff! Goes great with friends, campfire, and a nice smoke.

Troof.
Literally the last bottle of Eagle Rare I received as a gift, I and some friends killed around a fire w/ cigars...
I'll always be a fan of Knob Creek but the Rare is my current fav.

Y'all making me want to go try some. I've seen it at the store a couple times, but never picked it up. That decides it...Next time I go get a bottle, it's gonna be some Eagle Rare.

Eagle rare is a fine Bourbon. Blanton's is really good too... Not a fan of blade and bow but I might look for a different number. That Booker's is really good too. I would highly recommend the following as well...

Buffalo Trace, Angel's envy, bullet, makers, knob Creek, mitchers, Hudson baby Bourbon, and if you have never had it plain old Evan Williams black label is pretty damn good.

I need to try the ones in red...I've had the others, and yes, Evan Williams black is good!

Never been a wine or bourbon snob, in that I enjoy the cheap stuff sometimes just as well as having a vendor take us to some snooty bourbon bar and have us sample all "the best". Sometimes a good table wine (to me) is 10x better than that $500 bottle the high roller at the other end of the table ordered to look all pimp. I WILL say I love that Blanton's though....total fanboy'd out on that one  wanted to really trash it and heckle those that praise it... nope :shaking: Had to "drink the koolaid" so to speak

So... I'm just going to say the forecast is somewhere between an inch and near a foot and a half. I should be a weather man... I can be wrong all day long and still get paid!

Lol... I think we were at River Rock... I snatched out a handle of EW and my buddy laughed... "You did not have the extra $10 for some Jim beam?" I said go ahead and laugh. This is good stuff... 4 hrs later he could not stand it... He fixed a drink and became a fan. I have had 10 and 15 year pappy... That shit is terrible. Not really sure what retail is anymore but it is not worth that, let alone what idiots give for it.

For a "well" or a go to cheap Bourbon I am a big fan of Henry McKenna. Its cheap. Cheaper than EW cheap. But its smooth and I like it. I had a co-worker and is wife over for dinner back around Christmas. He is a Bourbon snob. Snob. Like I've heard him say "If you can swallow Jack Daniels or Jim Beam you can't be good at your job"...that kinda pompous ass. We get along for political reasons...Anyway we had dinner and enjoyed a couple drinks. I had poured a 750 of McKenna into a Decanter a while back...just because this decanter looks cool as shit. (Its a Football...and filled with Bourbon its just about the right color....anyway) Mr. Snob sees it and asks for the "special reserve"...Finally convinces me to let him have sip. Falls in love. Doesnt believe me when I tell him what it was, etc.
