Random pic thread.

Two Black Widows and two days. Both were under cinderblocks in the driveway.

Same guy was up near Table Rock on Friday. They posted pics on the Linville Gorge Facebook Group. Looks sick.

The bear was very skinny. It had GPS collar on as well as a tag in its ear.

I got one of those stuck one day

It takes very little/no skills nor english to be able to sink these to where they bottom out and turtle on any given jobsite after 3 days of rain They're typically used to find (and push down so a belly is formed) in all the underground piping on a job prior to the slab being poured.

I’m quoting this to like it again. Mesicans love to get them stuck after you tell them not to use and then get off and walk away once stuck.

I think this is a baby hognose snake from it's defiance and tenacity....

I had a tarp on the steps because there are cracks in the mortar letting water to the foundation that I need to fix. I pulled the tarp off and it was underneath. It just sat there coiled up w it's head under the coils and it looked like a huge snail. I worried I had stepped on it walking down the steps right before I removed the tarp and left it alone. 10 mins later it was still was coiled tight so I touched it w a stick and it moved. I kept messing w it and it started to shuck and jive and act like it was a very mean,8" snake. I left it alone again and it was still there 20 mins. later but uncoiled. I touched it w the stick again and it started striking @ my hand.It was gone 20 mins later. I took a video of the little brawler striking but I don't know how to upload it.

Love that sammich shop/hardware store/icecream shop. We stop there anytime we are near Jonas Ridge.
Looks like it got a new paint job and tarz. We stay at a cabin just south of there, near the Fire department up a gravel rd about 1/2 mile up on the ridge.

Not my pic, saw it on Reddit--it brings back plenty of solidworks memories though.View attachment 274171

Man, Im glad I dont have to draw ladders in solidworks. Great program, but not a misc steel detailing program. But, I have had to leave similar notes on radius stuff in tekla.
