Going Camping? On Hwy 73 at Hwy 16, Denver, today. Guess you call it a M1008 CUCV. Must have had a Load, as the back looked slightly low, but the front was Way High, & Bouncy!

Spiral stairs are the debil to model. Ive got one somewhere in my model archive thats in a college down in GA. My company did another for Stoney Brook Hospital in NY. That one is now an "architectural statement" because the "architect" didnt believe us when we told him it wouldnt meet code. ~$200k just sitting there, lookin purty.

Retrofitting a set of spiral cases really is a challenge, and we found it easier to build them first and model everything else around it. This is part of a band tower we're building from start to finish that's going somewhere in the upstate of SC if I'm not mistaking.

Spirals are tricky, but they sure are fun. Love seeing the work you post up, awesome stuff man!

Deanna needs to replace the stairs to the basement in Camden with some. I'm guessing it's going to be pricey.....???

Looks like Brian Herald, Triangle Off Road Mudd n Blood Club. They were in Harlan last week and I showed them around the first couple days.

Most likely. You can get some prefab light gauge spirals for ~1k. But anything custom built aint gonna be cheap.

The man is watching.... very first and in wordscapes...

a little a little trivia for everyone. Do you know why fire departments started using spiral staircases?

Which kept the horses out of the living quarters, but slowed the firemen down responding to calls. Until somebody got a bright idea to cut a hole in the floor put in the first fireman's pole.

Because it's entertaining to watch full grown men try to run down them in a hurry and not and not fall?

It's the horses thing.

only one person can slide down the pole at a time. With a spiral staircase, you can slide multiple firemen down at the same time.

And now as a firefighter I hate any set of stairs that isn't a straight shot between floors, because it's inevitable that we will have to put a 400lb person on a backboard and bring them down those steps lol.
