65 year old switchgear.
Main feeder cut through during a slab repair, only found when the slurry mix from the concrete saw started running out of the electrical room in the basement.
Had to de-energize a 2000a breaker that was old enough to be on social security. Then re-energize it after a thorough inspection and feeder removal. All in an electrical room the size of a porta john.
Concrete dust isnt conductive - but…flash events are real. Will never ask any employee to do something I wouldn’t, and figured if SHTF I’d rather nope out the world than deal with the guilt and lawsuits that would result anyway. Luckily all went according to plan.
Now to fix this mess.
