Random pic thread.

My wife did a thing.....she decided the time had come to own a convertible. She was all over the place (German, Japanese, American). Landed on a REALLY nice Z28 with a T56 for less than anything else she was looking at. Drove it back from the west side of the state this weekend (250 miles)....this thing is a hoot!

These kids man. The boys were given umbrellas, so of course they had to test them. Then Remi decided playing with the pigs would be fun.

I have a hard time with Texas's reported number. Or maybe "reported" is the key word.
yeah bc all the thugs in NJ don't "report" either

How many of us does this describe?

I've seen this before, but I'd argue that a new vehicle doesn't show sound financial decision making and keeping an old vehicle on the road shows dedication.

Most of the senior execs at my company drive older vehicles. Nothing flashy. I have 3 gmt800s over 200k miles. One of our VPs has a newer Denali but still drives his 400k+ mile suburban he's had since new. Every few weeks we'll compare notes on what we've had to fix since last chat.

Helped a buddy pull a motor at LKQ he wants to drop in his CRV

My dad brother and myself have some of the oldest vehicles in the parking lot at work, and we own the place 😅
I've got an uncle through marriage that is the head of a major company his dad started. Probably 7-800 employees.
Deca-millionaire, easily...too bad he doesnt share.

He is currently driving a 2013 Tundra with just over 200k miles. He lives like 8 miles from the office. In 2013 he bought it to replace his 1989 F150...because he thought he was getting older and finally out to have AC.
If you meet this man and he isnt at work, its sweat pants, t shirts, new balance running shoes and a jaw full of redman golden blend...or whatever they have renamed it to today.

A month or so back he asked me to meet him on a Saturday at one of his facilities to look at doing a service upgrade. We met there, its a remote facility and I am pretty sure no one there knew who he was. The maintenance guy is walking us around and opening the electrical room door. Out back in the employee lot we are looking at the transformer. Two employees are on a smoke break looking at one them's new Duramax Denalis. My uncle jokingly says, 'Man I need a job here - looks like they pay real well'...the employee - thinking this old man in sweatpants is with me says 'Yes sir, its a great place to work, but there are deals out there on new trucks.'
Uncle Jim looks at his new truck and says 'Man that sure is nice, maybe one day I'll be able to justify buying me one'

We finish up and walk away and my uncle said a phrase to me that drips with wisdom that he told me once when I was 17 and Ive never forgotten, I finished his sentence and he smiled.
'As a rule rich men buy flashy things, wealthy men don't'

That’s awesome that they have a hoist for you
Indeed. I'll say that thing was a pretty interesting home booty fab contraption.... A big A frame on 4 wheels on rotating casters, no wheel locks or anything. But you can't see is the whole yard is a pretty steep hill. Takes some creativity and profanity to roll around the yard and keep put, but damn nice to have.
At first were a bit skeptical of the manual chain lift, but it probably had a 100:1 gearing or something and worked great.
Once we had it out and dropped it on the ground, they just used a forklift to haul up to the cashier and dropped in my truck. Easy peasy.

Walmart in Mount Airy has a lot of stuff locked up 😑 I guess there’s more scumbags thieves in town than I realized. Galax and Elkin don’t have locks on anything.
