Random pic thread.

Picked up the chassis bits from powder coat for the current Scrambler build. Once I pick up the baby axles from Treadway I’ll start assembly

What brand? I love mine.
It is the clone of the Oregon that Northern Tool sells.

I put a CBN wheel on it so no profiling and will last hundreds of chains.

My FIL passed last year and it belonged to him. I had been eyeballing them before because we live in the rockiest place on planet earth. Trees sometimes “eat” a rock and it goes up inside the tree as it grows. I find these rocks from time to time 😅 and have to pay the Echo place to grind them because fixing them by hand filing sucks really hard.

Now I am chain self sufficient 🤷🏼‍♂️

Renovating a bathroom, have lower half of walls out.
This is the space between the framing and the window sill....

A reminder that in 1965 building standards were different...
No sheathing at all. Just framing, black paper, then a layer of bricks.

Good old fiberglass r12 between the joists and wherever they felt like putting it, then drywall.

We have an unusual walk-up staircase into the attic that abuts one of the walls, I can see a gap in the framing at the base of the stairs they didn't even bother to insulate at all.

"Sealed HVAC envelope" what's that?
Whenever the high-efficiency window guys come knocking on the door I just laugh at them about the futility.
 
While in Fl for Christmas, Dad's boat lost an engine. Well technically it still ran but not well and doing some quick diagnostics found oil in the water. Pulled the power head and brought it back to NC to see if I could do a quick head gasket and whatnot. Pulled the head tonight and got a stuck valve, corrosion hole between water and exhaust, must have lifted the head to mix oil and water, but it's all so bad I can't see where it started mixing... Not sure I have something to repair and if I did, I wouldn't want to go 35 miles offshore with it.

Has about 360 hours on it. Sad really. The port motor is still running, but I suspect it's insides look just like this. It was missing pretty bad so I fed her the onions to "blow it out". Got up to 3800 rpm a couple times before the diagnosis began. Thought maybe plugs but found the milk pretty quick and went back to the dock...

That looks mint compared to the 2001 build I remodeled last year, the old ways had their place
