Random Thoughts.....

Why do people care so much about what the money they gift to someone looks like? I get not giving someone a raggedy looking $20 bill with blood on it, but why does it need to be brand spankin new? It all spends the same.
this is less of a concern if you just don't gift cash.

It's impossibel to get an apt at the MVA (DMV) for a license renewal, everywhere it's 2-4 weeks booked out. I was just digging around and got super lucky that one of the not-too-far away offices had an opening just pop up today while I was in teh system.

I never thought I'd be excited about nabbing an appointment at the MVA, yet here we are.

But in the society that we live in, its the easiest, most non thoughtful gift there is and its always the right size and color. but I also realize that some people can't get out to get gifts or no how to order stuff online or just procrastinate and its really the only option. but not once have I ever been gifted cash and thought "Man, I wish these bills looked better, they must not care about me"

You do if you want to definitely be seen and nit wait 2hrs.
Only for certain things, like license renewals

As of an hour ago, and a few drinks later I can officially say I'm dating a black chick now. Met her in a Mexican bar. 100%

Random enough?
Pics?

Here, they started doing appointments since covid started. Have to book 2+ wks out. Honestly I wish the tag office did this, vs waiting in line for an hr, atleast

Sinbad's rant in Jingle All the Way has aged pretty well.

One if the joys of working on a rusty old Toyota is finishing up and looking at what must be 5% of the vehicle's mass in rusty flakes in a pile on the floor.

I cannot wrap my head around how the Law of Conservation of Matter has not caught up to this thing yet.

For those with kids, how does yours measure time? My little boy is 4. Anytime you tell him about an upcoming event he asks “how many naps is that?” He counts bedtime as naps too. We’re down to 2 naps till Santa. On any type of trip the question is “how many turns till we get there?”. We have to count down the turns. He’s got some rain man OCD something going on. Every parent says it, but he’s extremely intelligent. He’s my 3rd kid. The other 2 don’t hold a candle to him. The teachers are blown away by him. He’s disruptive at school because he’s bored. No exaggeration, I have a video of him at 18 months calling out his numbers 1-10 out of order with flash cards. He learned the alphabet and all the sounds within a few weeks. He’s already reading some words. Don’t know where he gets it from because I’m an idiot.

@Wes maybe you have mentioned it or maybe not. I will ask this question and I hope it doesn’t upset you. Have you ever had your son tested to see if he is on the spectrum? Everything you explained was my son to the letter especially the acting out in class. We finally found a Dr. who asked us the same thing. My son is a high functioning Autistic and the knowledge gained by understanding what that means was HUGE. he was diagnosed at 2 and is now 16. I don’t think we would have had near the success without understanding “what makes him tick”.

He just started adhd meds. He’s been evaluated for everything. He checked out. He’s just extremely hyper. Everyone is amazed that he’s learned anything with his lack of focus. He’s all over the place. We’re getting his dosage dialed in. Once he calms down and can actually focus he’s gonna be dangerous.

Get him off that shit. He's just bored. Teachers want them on meds so they'll be quiet and sit still

Nah. He’s hell on wheels outside of school too. I was dead against it, but he needs it.

They tried to get us to put our son on that crap too. We told them that the teacher needs to learn how to get him interested in what she was teaching. Most of his teachers figured out how to get his attention. Got him into sports in grade school and middle school he didn't want to play in high school he was doing a lot of 4 wheeling by then. At home i had him help me working on my 4x4's and customer cars and take him 4 wheeling. Now he is 30 yo. and he is a great mechanic and fabricator and spends more time in the mountains than i do now. Also helps with the family business towing & body shop and junkyard.

Not bashing you, at all. But throw the meds in the trash. As a kid who was on that mess, I hated it. Put me in a fog and made me stop eating. Better option is give him outlets and challenge him.

ADHD meds ....
My wife is a teacher, so she has seen her share of kids that needed it and that didn't.
For the record, she is 100% against the meds.
She is a strong woman, physically and mentally and not afraid to go nose to nose with a student when needed.
It's really funny ( sadly funny, actually ) how many kids that "needed" meds were able to make it just fine with zero problems,
when they forgot them for the day, when they were confronted by someone who was not gonna take it and put the fear of God in them.

Some kids need it, most probably don’t. My daughter was on adderall when we adopted her at 10. She told me as an adult that when she was little, life was like trying to watch TV with someone switching the channel every few seconds. She was able to learn to focus as she was older and has no trouble now.

It’s at a point where it’s affecting our jobs. Getting calls daily from school to come and get him, getting the boot from after school care. The list goes on. He’s different for me. I can handle him. He knows I won’t put up with it. He gives the school hell. I can tell a difference in him already. For the better.

Everyone had advice on how to handle my kid too. No one knows him better than you.

Nothing like people who have had the EXACT same set of situations in their own life offer a friendly recommendation to prevent a child from possibly being fed prescription meds (that are horrible for them) if it at all could be prevented. But I’ll just GFMS….

Also, CBD based meds > chemical based prescriptions. IJS…
