I have to play tire carousel with (14) 39" tires mounted on beadlocks, what is going to be the most time efficient way of doing this without damaging the wheels? Where do you guys go to get the bigger tires removed, or does everyone have their own equipment?

I've mounted about twenty five 37"s in my garage- via the jumping on the tire until it pops on method. I wanted to avoid that with the current task at hand. I've had local tire shops or Walmart unmount the 37"s without issues in the past. But not 39"s....

Suggestions or business recommendations?

I'm sure 4wp or Tarheel 4wd could do it. With that said any shop with a good machine can do it if the person is willing.

Tire changer from Harbor Freight. I did 12 tires one day using it.

In doing my research to do this on my own, I found that Harbor freight tool. But I also saw where a lot of guys were having to modify it for it to actually work well.

there tire changer sucks for anything over 35

That's basically what I saw, that and several pieces bend and others have had to weld onto them too for bracing.

Engine hoist with legs over tire, and hoist hooked to back of wheel, and a couple pry bars with lots of soapy water

For what ever reason, that just looks susceptible to damaging a wheel. I've never tried it, but picturing it in my head, I'm sure I would destroy a wheel.

I haven't called 4wp yet.

I Mounted a 40" swamper using the HF changer with no trouble.

The end of the lever did break off and require me rewelding it on. It never broke again though.

May I ask why the heck do you have (14) 39's?

I got tired of being denied at the ledge on Daniel. I'm building the ultimate 7x7 Jeep Compass to go tame URE.

:)

5 are sold and I'm taking the other 9 out to go race King of the Hammers.

Jay, did you not notice the Beissbarth tire machine and balancer I have at the shop? I don't have the time at the moment to do 14 tires, but if you want to trailer them up here I'll show you how to use the machine and let you go to town on the rest. It's even got an air operated lift on it so you won't even have to lift those bad boys off the ground. I've done 37s and 38's on it before without issue.

Can't wait to see that build complete. Good luck at the Hammers! That's an awesome race I was lucky enough to make it in 2011.

Well then, see you Monday.

I'll be the guy with the color coordinating work gloves, boots and hand towel tucked ever so perfectly in my back pocket. Ready to work ;)

< Sigh> I told you years ago about a tire shop less than 2 miles from your castle than can do this.
But WTF do i know.

Could be like me and have to send the tires and wheels to goforth in tn to get mounted because it seems like no one around here can do them.

Engine hoist legs over tire. Put the engine hoist boom in one of the 'shorter' positions. Tree strap through wheel spokes. No soap, no prybars needed. Nothing except the strap touches the wheel. Jack until it comes out. You'll be done faster than it takes to unload and load them at a tire shop.

Done it a hundred times.

S.L. Customs took time away from building badass resto-mods to let me use their tire machine. Huuuuge thanks to them. Although I do feel like I may have provided some good entertainment trying to work that thing lol.

Just so people don't think I made it too easy for him, Jay did have to get his hands dirty (although the Redlyner Racing Level 9 hair gel held firm through the whole process.) Here are a couple working shots for entertainment purposes. While my tire machine did most of the hard work, it did not have the reach to pull the tire over the last bead so Mr. Handsome Jay #HandsomeJay had to put those guns to work and do some tugging... on the tire.
