OK you guys, You want some input on the Uwharrie race?

I am meeting with Shawn D. W/ American Wheeler on Friday the 11th. Our first meeting will be at UNF along with the rangers. We will be basicaly going over the logistics and finer details with the rangers. This meeting is at 1:00.

AFTER THAT......

Upon further conversations with Shawn, He and I have decided that a ''round table meeting'' with a few select members of this board, were in order.

We have decided to meet in Salisbury around 7:00( place to be decided soon)

During this meeting we will discuss certain details such as
*VEHICLE CLASSES
*RULES
*OTHER MISC. TOPICS
This is our chance to be involved and learn more.Maybe even help shape the event.
Members at the meeting will then be able to help inform others, at least.

We are only looking for 3 or 4 more ''DELEGATES'' from this board, so....We need to pick, fight over, or other wise come up with aroun 3 or 4 more folks who are interested and can make the trip. I know some of you guys could do this.
So we will let the board sort it out amongst ourselves.
BUT REMEMBER, FRIDAY IS FAST APPROACHING!

So far, I have commited my self for this meeting AND.....
yes, BIG WOODY will be there.I spoke with him earlier and he is coming for sure. SO.....WHO ELSE?

If you are seriously interested, please send a PM to either myself, or Shawn. Let us know soon. Feed back tonight would be great.
So...who is in?

Round Table Meeting

Hey everyone. Dillon and I were discussing classes and vehicle regulations. We all realize that this is a really big deal. I knew b4 we lunched the website that this was gonna be an issue. SO, here's your chance to help out, have some input. I'm really excited about it because I could really use the help here. It's next to impossible to make everyone happy in this situation because all of our rigs are so different. So whoever would like to come, please pm me or Dillon and we will make our selection. Thanks again, Sean-D American Wheeler.

I can come. Let me know.

Duane

ttt.. only 3 so far? Who will/can show up and help iron out the details? Our help has been requested for the meeting.

Dude, it's been 2.5 hours, during the busy after-work/dinner hours. Give it time... they will come...

I'm sorry I can't make the meeting. You'll have to trust me when I tell you all my waking hours have been fully consumed for the past few weeks.

But regarding vehicle classes, it's impossible to please everybody but I think what we have now has a lot of room for improvement. The fact that a guy like Travis would be going up against stock rubicons seems unfair. The last competition I was in divided classes up like this. No system will be perfect but this one seemed pretty fair to me.

*Stock - 35" and under. Must have normal steering. Factory type suspension - no long arm kits. Must wear seat belts.

*Mod Stock - 37" and under. Must have normal steering. Factory type suspension. If your rig came stock with coils - must have coils, leaf springs stock - must keep the leaves. Long arm kits ARE allowed, hydro assist IS allowed. Must wear seat belts.

*Modified - 35" and up. No full hydraulic, coilovers or airshocks. Must have frame tied-in cage/harness

*Unlimited - Anything goes. Must have frame tied-in cage/harness
I hope this plan comes up during the meeting. I think it's closer to the right answer than what we have now.

True, true. This is a good idea, and it seems like a fair layout to me. I will bring this idea to the meeting cause I dont see that any tweeking is nescassary if we go with this layout.

This may not be the best place to get a debate on the "class definitions" going... but here is my opinion on the above listing...

It is not at all fair to the guys on the low end. Imagine a bone-stock TJ on 31" ATs. Correct me if I'm wrong, but part of the intent is to get those guys in here too, right?
Now imagine a SAS'ed Toy w/ front/rear lockers on 35s and full tube armor.
Those two would both be in the same "stock" class. No way. Even w/o long arms etc, Rig #2 can run anything in URE at any speed w/o fear.

I live in salisbury, and considered entering this thing, but i doubt i will be able to get the entry fees together. I will call a spot if people are needed friday, im sure i can bring some ideas to the table, but i obviously am not quite as concerned over the details as some of the more vocal members

i agree, but i think somewhere in between those two would be correct, a stock class that is just that, stock, but a slightly more open modified class than what was orginally slated.......

If you are still needing another member for the meeting I can be there. I'm planning on competing. Something definitley needs to be addressed in the classes as far as lockers/gears are concerned.

Dylan,
Why did you pick the same weekend as the CTB ride in Mtn City?
Otherwise, I'd be there.

I didnt choose this day, I cant make the ride this weekend after all, but I could do the meeting.
This is the day Shawn had set up to meet with rangers, already. Due to the latest events on the forum, he wanted to hold this meeting in Salisbury afterwards.

Dylan, If you get the 3 or so members for the meeting, then Ill skip this one for the reasons I mention in my PM, but please keep me in the loop. If you still want/need me Ill go though.

i agree...35's are bit too big for a stock class.....there would be no way the rigs that are actually stockish guys would have a chance

I'd like to be involved, I can make the meeting this friday at 7, granted I may act like a goof on the board here but I have always been good at, and enjoyed, organizing events. Besides I'm about to graduate in 4 months with a degree in business management, time I started to act like an adult. So yea, I'm willing to help as much as I can to get this event rolling, let me know.

One quick question I haven't seen an answer to yet...

If NC4x4 and/or CTB help out with the event, whats in it for them? They help organize and make it happen, got to meetings, promote and support, and the organizer walks off with 100% of the proceeds??? I would expect someting in return, i.e. some type of "donation" back to the groups (CTB, NC4x4 board, etc.) that support and MAKE IT HAPPEN.

just a thought

I've got one of those...and I still don't give in to acting like an adult, it's overrated.

lol, tru, but I gotta start doin something otherwise by the time may rolls around I won't have a job . . . .

Plus i really want to try and work for some type of motorsports company in the managment/business side, and my ideal job that im gong for is event management.
