Round table meeting w/ American wheeler

I should have thought of this earlier, My wife actually did her intership with the pro-rock series out west. She helped organize several rock crawl events and also organized "mudstock" in Ark. a few years back. She pretty much went to school for this type of organizing and has direct experience with setting up this type of event. I'm pretty sure she might help out for some compensation. She's also from the UNF area and could be an integral part of pulling this off. Just throwing it out there, (wife pimp off).

Wow, thats like exactly what I want to do . . . . but i mean Im down for any type of motorsports stuff when I get out, I just really like doing the event coordination stuff in general, maybe i should be a wedding planner . . . . . :gay::lol: nah motorsports seems more up my alley :driver:

FOR THOSE OF YOU GOING TO THE MEETING TOMMOROW:

I am compiling all the questions on the various threads into one more viable format, I will be organizing similar questions, cutting out jibberish, etc, in order to keep some organization in tommorows meeting. I'm doing what I can to categorize the questions, please write down what questions you want to ask and then review the threads to make sure someone else hasn't already asked it

It'll take long enough just for us to get throu the board questions im compiling, so lets try to keep the repeat questions to a minimum tommorow night.
Thanks

I agree with you, BUT, I dont ask to see a resturants insurance policy before I eat there, or any other policy for that matter(except in some sub-contracting work) I never ask to see a policy for any business I buy from.
While Im on this subject....Most of the inside business affairs of this event/company will never be know to this, or any other forum. I am not trying to be an ass, but some of these questions are/could be a private matter to be known only to the owners/promoter. I am quite possitive that those details
are to be worked out amongst ins. company/UNF/American Wheeler. As probably will the money/profit/investment part of the deal. Meaning: if I go to a nascar race at Charlotte, I dont get to talk with Humpy about the ins/profit/risk/investments.
I simply buy my ticket and have some fun. Same should apply here.imo

For those of us going to the meeting, we should all know.....
The meetings intent is to Focus on a few questions and topics. Especially vehicle classes. We will be asking and going over questions from this forum, but only those topics that we as a forum could lend some help and ideas to. Yes, we will try to learn as much as we can, and gather as much info as we can. No..we wont demand answers to questions that are none of our buisness. Hopefully, after the meeting, we will be able to post this in the 'upcoming events section', and those of us attending the meeting will all be able to post up about what we have learned. Once that happens, you all will decide to jump on or not. And if its ''all good'' then we all take part, in one form or another, and help make this an event to be proud of

Hey Dylan, just a quick question, is this an official CTB sponsered event? I just see our logo on the website and wondered, or that was just because some (all?) of the organizers are CTB folks?

Another note / thought for you, if this IS, and becomes affliated as well with SFWDA, they have insurance in place for OFFICIAL events. They may want to get their ducks in a row with them as well, not to mention that is the crowd/advertising they are looking for.

Sam

The only affiliation so far, is that we are all talking. Once things are set in better motion, There is hope that more clubs
will become involved, and have their logos up as well.
Alot more will be known after tonight!

If I hire a roofer, I ask for his license and a copy of the insurance policy. Actually, when they bid, 2 of 5 offered it before I asked.

If your club is in any way though to be affiliated...I'd ask, or you will be liable. You don't have to let me know though cus I don't have my logo on their site.

on the insurance issue, i agree with you on that one Dylan..... but they should definately plan to atleast have anyone in attendance sign a waiver that claims that the persons competing or watching know of the dangers and that American Wheeler, UNF, or none of the sponsors are responsible to damage or injury... I figure this is standard protocol at events though...

Thats kinda what im getting at. Trust me , it will be a given, on the ins. policy...or I dont think this will happen at all.

You all would be shocked at how many 4x4 related events and organizations operate without any type of insurance.

Well I was called into work today so I wont be able to attend the meeting tonight. Keep us updated.

Duane

I got the possible OK from the wife to come out. Bit of a trek, but hey no biggie... so if anybody think I'm am worthy, I might be able to make it...

hey guys...we are going to hopefully delete all 4 or 5 of these old threads and post up the new stuff sometime soon.
We discussed a lot at the salisbury meeting, and we now have a new ''race commitee''. We should be getting the new classes posted soon. We have them, I just have to work today, and cant post much till later today, but the other guys should be able too.

There will be a race @ UNF. The meeting with the rangers went VERY SMOOTH, and they ARE very excited and willing to facilitate this race. There are a few changes that have been made. Details to come. Thats all from me for now, cause I gotta git to work.
