Just heard about this, I did some research and am still confused, Does this affect us with trail rigs? Or is it only trying to ban performance parts?

So we can modify our gender, but not our vehicles? WTF!?

I haven't really dug into it yet, But I thought it only applied to competition vehicles. If it's gonna apply to anything that was ever destined for street use, I see some big business coming for the Mahindra Roxor!

Damn. Apparently I clicked on the Lefty McLefterson site as my first google search on the subject.

Take a look at Heavy D from Diesels Brothers, they are being sued by a private group in Utah for modifying vehicles that were once on the street and then said to be for offroad use only. He is fighting for our right to do this.
thats a stretch of a take.
Diesel Brothers had a show promoting deleitng and tuning trucks and sold parts for the same for on highway vehicles.

Ive got a good friend in Atlanta who was approached about doing a show the same time as Diesel Bros...he turned it down. Why?
His words: "I got a golden egg laying goose. Why would I want to call the IRS and the EPA and tell them what I am doing where?"

Have you seen the house that Dave Sparks just built? I think that man ended up with the goose that lays golden eggs!

Who knew selling a T shirt for entries into a raffle could be such a huge success?

I have watched some of the coverage and listened to some of the testimony. His big business is selling parts. Tuners and deletes were a very small part. like 100 tuners over the time he is being sued for. The total number of vehicles that are covered is like less than 20 vehicles. Also listened to him and his lawyer just a week or so ago and what they are being sued for is pretty small. Even the EPA refused to get involved and it is just a private group suing him. In fact they (diesel brothers) wanted the EPA involved and they declined.

Really some interesting stuff to read and really shows how much government overreach there is and how it is being used. Basically according to the clean air act any vehicle that was built for use on the street cannot be modified and any group that wants to bring suit for those violation cans.

They quoted numbers of the pollution that the vehicles they are being sued over create versus the refineries in the same area and it is infinitesimal in comparison.

I thought there was already discussion about this, but i cannot seem to find it. One of the members here wrote their senator. The response basically said that this has not been brought up for discussion since the new congress has been in session.

They are too busy taking away the larger populations' freedoms.

no doubt...
But if the feds take it all away...theoretically.

I've been watching this some too. IDK if that act will be able to get passed in this current political climate.... just my .02

Oh damn. I didn't even hear about that yet. So that is why every car manufacturer is saying they are going all electric now I assume...
not really, that stage has been set for a long time. The building of said stage is what made it possible for thet bill to even be posed.

wow you weren't kidding and Leftist.

I just love this pic too

That just completely ignores the fact that it turns out VWs really were not all that clean after all...

To some degree this is self inflicted. All those folks thinking its cool to roll coal have brought unwanted attn.Did they really think it would go unnoticed??Its not just those guys but they haven't helped the situation esp when they post it all over social media.

There's a better article somewhere out there but I got tired of looking. Here's a graphical snapshot.

So on the way home this got me thinking: "the California Air Resources Board will develop regulations to mandate that 100 percent of in-state sales of new passenger cars and trucks are zero-emission by 2035" Sren't hydrogen powered engines zero emission?
Nothing is "zero emission". They are just moving the emissions to another part of the process for the sake of political posturing and virtue signaling.

Right I get that. Electricity is still 50% fossil fuel generated and the fuel spent to create the batteries also adds to the carbon footprint of electric cars. Seems like I read an article several years ago about testing engines on hydrogen power being zero emissions in the current dirty gasses witch hunt. Diesel gives off Nox and Gas gives off CO2. I also saw an add recently where one of the oil companies mentions hydrogen research.

Hydrogen is zero emission it gives off water. Natural Gas is pretty close to zero emission and propane is not far behind it. Again if they are burning efficiently the by product is CO2 and water

And the production of any of these things also produces emissions. Nuclear is probably the cleanest and least impactful way to go, but noone wants to have that conversation because NIMBYs. Need more PIIMBYs.

When I was looking int my F250 when I looked at building it I was surprised to see both Natural Gas and Propane as a fuel source option. Looking back it requires the 6.2 engine.
