So I went wheeling with some friends on monday, and my friend in his yj (that he JUST lifted less than a month ago) went to play in some mud; but he went too deep. It rained recently and he sucked in some water and blew a rod. This was one of the cleanest yj's i've seen too, a 93 with just 35K miles

and the aftermath. didn't even realize that it was this bad till we realized that there was a ton of oil all over the place.\

so it went from :driver: to :confused: to :(:poop: in 35 seconds??? lol... sucks for him, sure hope he doesn't sell it.
 
That wasn't very deep. I am surprised it sucked in enough to do that much damage.
 
I'd say it was lack of use of the jeep for the past 15 years then dogging the shit out of it.

2300 miles a year isnt enough to properly maintain a vehicles peak lifespan.
 
Probably had a Violant cold air intake on it... :lol:

Yea i pulled the pan yesterday to see if i could fix just the one rod and there was about a 3" hole in the block right above the hole in the oil pan.

So he needs a new motor

i think he wants to sell it now....i'm trying to convince him otherwise.
and it was just the plain stock airbox on it too.

either SBC or stroke the crap out of it. I couldnt be happier with my 4.7L and I got it as a result of a similar situation, although I would like to think that mine was caused by deeper water
 
not sure if he's gonna know what an SBC is, and im gonna have to disagree with that recomendation.

Given his history, they ought to drop in a mercruiser.
 
Stroker for sure. I ended up with mine due to dry water (aka busted radiator=no coolant)
