Looking for a sought case to go behind the 5.9 magnum with the AX-15. Long term goal will be a NWF Ecobox and a 241 internals. SO I'd love to get out that can go straight in and work until funds free up for the double set up. I came across a 241J on MP. When and where did Jeep use these? I know about the 241 OR and this isn't that. My search has been centered around the 241D since I have one in a XJ right now. So I'd need 23 spline input and fixed output yokes. The problem with the 241D is it has slip front and rear outputs.

flipped D300 have too many drawbacks? Would be well behind the ecobox I would think.
Evveryone I know to have put a doubler in front of a 300 broke the 300. Plan is eco box 205. That will be way down the road though. Goal is to get started on this and drivable. Plan to take the wife to town in it some.

What input did Chevy use? I'm seeing quite a few 241C on MP.

iirc I used a Chevy 241c and a 23spline input from a 231j to build my ecobox/205
There should be lots of info on the web for this.
Tons of NP parts interchange but be careful mixing manual shift/electric shift parts.

The one you posted is a JK 241. Nothing wrong with them or anything. You'll want to verify the input shaft spline count and make sure it's 23. In 2012 when they went to the 3.6 V6, the automatic they used was 26 spline. Basically 07-11 will be the same spline if auto and AFAIK the manuals were all 23 spline.
Verify the protrusion on the input too and make sure it'll engage the seal in the extension housing.
You may be better off with an upgraded manual trans 231 to be honest (or a TJ Rubi case).
The other thing with a JK case is adapting the speedo function if you need one for PCM functionality. The JK don't have a VSS in the case like pre-JK did.

In a dream world I'd go ahead and buy your set up. But I've got to generate some cash first. Maybe I should pull the 5.9 and go ahead and part out the truck. I do know there were some pitch changes on the gears of the 231.

Thanks. I have zero knowledge on anything after about 01. LOL! It's crossed my mind to take a 231 planetary and add 3 planetary. Which I have plenty of 231 parts. Just don't know anything about how they are put together.

I'd be pretty hard pressed not to just use a typically upgraded 231 and rock out. Unless you just do it once and pickup a 241OR or an Atlas if a cheap one pops up

I agree but damn shit's expensive these days...... Need to sell that old Ford gathering pollen in the yard. But I have too much tied up into it.

Sounds like you answered your own question.
A $225 SYE and a stock XJ front shaft and you're done until you're ready to spend some coin.
Then you sell that SYE'd 231 for what you have in it
