Short vacation ideas?

Colonial Williamsburg. If not, there's a GWL down the road. And, if neither of those work, there's Bush Gardens a few miles down past Colonial Williamsburg.

Well, I had planned on Hilton Head but thanks a lot Mathew. Anyone got any ideas for a long weekend vacation? It'll be and the Mrs and a 6yo and 6mo.

Short vacations? I thought we'd worn out the short jokes, but @Dylan W. might have some suggestions if he's feeling generous.

Like fo reals?

Took our little girl to daycare downtown this morning and it looked like business as usual. All the areas that normally flood in non hurricane conditions were clear. I cant vouch for the actual beaches though...got some friends on Folly I can ask them what kinda shape its in if that would help ya out.

I'm on it...waiting to hear back. Ill let you know as soon as I hear back.

Hurricanes aside, October is by far my favorite time of the year down here.

Do that and let me know. We love Charleston.

My buddy said Folly was open to the public and there was access to the beaches. He's got power and said they should have the whole island good in the next day. Currently there is a 9 pm curfew...I think it will be lifted when all power is back. The Tides hotel is open and some of the restaurants are as well with limited menus. Plenty of great places to eat in Charleston though.

Gotcha, it's been 23ish years since I was there. I was little enough that the "tunnel into the water" on the way there was a big anticipation for me. Had never seen anything like it before. My Mom and Grandpa trying to explain that the whole road went under water and I asked if the seals on the vans windows and doors were still good enough to keep the water out. haha
Nowadays you get to pay $4 for the honor of driving under the water every time you do it.
