So you like beer?

Dude, that would be outstanding!

On a related note, I went to the Dogfish Head Alehouse in Falls Church, VA (5 mi outside of DC) the other night and had some of their fresh brews.

We have so many craft breweries that do tours right here in NC that it will be a while before I even think about venturing out to find some good stuff. Right here in Raleigh we have Carolina and Big Boss (been to both a few times), then out towards Greensboro is Red Oak (been there to buy growlers but haven't made the 3:30PM Friday tour yet). Then out in Farmville is Duck Rabbit but you have to call to arrange a tour.

i would sell my left n*t for that trip, it cost more than that after you check into it. God is great, Beer is good, and People are crazy.

one day Il be there and Jonah will be too

I havnt been to Big Boss yet. It will happen soon because i like the way they do it. had the beer, but havnt made the taste in the cool room

I hate to keep making so many posts. it is about beer.........

I love Gailic Ale, have any of you guys been up there and checked the brewery out.

I was pretty pissed when I found out Red Oak is just a brewery and not a Brew Pub anymore...

My dad was in the Navy Reserve out of Greensboro and that was their haunting place...we were gonna go out there a few weeks ago but it turns out he packed up the pub and just brews now...apparently he wasnt interested in serving food at all.

you forgot Lone Rider brewery off westgate rd

and there is a new small one called aviation brewery down past 10/10 rd in Garner

Become a homebrewer, that's what I did, and make whatever type of beer you want. It is pretty easy, and alot cheaper. Plus you will enjoy the beers you try at all of these microbreweries more because you will know how they make them. If anyone is interested in homebrewing let me know, you can join me next time I brew a batch.

The food at Spring Garden Brewery was terrible anyway. Beer was/is good though.

Yeah. The owner wasnt the least interested in the food part of the business, all he wanted to do was make the beer.

Whats the initial cost of getting the equipment to do this?

It's not that bad, $50-$150 for the basic equip. About $20-$30 for the ingredients to make 5 gallons of beer.

Hmm, you would think I would know of that since Westgate Rd is a couple miles from my house. I will have to look that up!

Going to try to make that one tomorrow afternoon with a buddy of mine. I think it is actually in Fuquay-Varina.

Me and a buddy hit up Aviator Brewing on Saturday. Decent brews, interesting take on the tour. You get a free beer (of course) for going out there. http://www.aviatorbrew.com/

Since someone mentioned it I looked up Lone Rider and I don't think they do tours but I might stop by there this week just to see: http://www.loneriderbeer.com/
