In the true spirit of one-upping 1stgenhillbilly jeff, I cut my 92 1200xlh in half. Have been saving parts for this for almost a year now, finally got the motivation and balls to do it. Thanks rain. Also being in the more money than time club for the first time ever, I sold my 1" tube die, bare seat pan and other parts and bought a really nice pre made weld on section and a much nicer seat than I could have ever made. I wish I could find a picture of it when I got it with the sofa cushion seat and windshield...

Anyway, here it is with the apes when the dog used to ride it.

And, after plenty of bad words...

The fender and oil tank aren't mounted yet obviously. Got some 70's style avon tires to mount before I can figure out the fender and got an old mountain bike (rock shox) rear air shock that I'll try and make work for the seat.

I like it!

Hell yea man. Lookin good. Lets just bob my nice motorcycle so I don't look "chinese".

ooooo

Yea that was it

This isn't even including the ridiculous amount of wiring that was in the stock headlight and turn signal/horn crap I pulled out before. Who would have thought they'd have so much sweet copper on these things.

And, I'll try doing anything once. One of those things that I'll never do again is trying to change a fawking 16" streetbike tire. Took a forklift and portapower to break the bead. Then pinched the tube. :shaking: Anyway...decided to get rid of the belt and ordered a chain. Might as well go full easy rider.

Damn son. The the belt you got off ebay not fit?

I'm going to get a few more wiring things and mine should be wired up pretty soon.

Yeah man, figured it was the same muchado from pirate. Funny how a lot of 4wd guys have the same ideas.

Anyway, I've got this tank and another low tunnel/high mounted peanut tank. Trying to decide on which one. Also trying to decide sissy bar or not. There will be a p pad with plenty of ladies riding, and I will need a place to strap my beer/stuff. On the other hand, I'm not sure if it goes with the bike.

Not done yet, but I've been riding it and this is how it looks for now. Still going to make a p pad and forward controls when I find the motivation. Tank and fender are going to stay bare for the summer. It's pretty damn fast and most people think it's a foreign bike for some reason, I'm happy.
