Well I have pretty much finished the interior of the truck and now I have decided it was time to start on the outside..
Inside Pics
I have been trying to figured out how to clean these Aluminum rims that came on my truck for some time with no luck...
Well I finally figured it out..
***Warning DO NOT use the chemical products I used unless you do not have clear coat on your rims and PLEASE where gloves protective glasses and a face mask.. this stuff wil burn you and the smell wil never go away.
Here are the rims before I figured out how to clean the,

Well the Rims that were on this truck were very nasty and there was a ton of TAR on the.. this truck was owner by a paving company.
The first two pics are showing all the tar that was on rims when I got them

These steel rims are ones I borrowed from a friend so I could still drive truck while I clean mine

I bought 5 gallones of ChemDip and let each rim sit in that for 1 hour.. then I took them out and put them into this horse container I have and let them soak overnight to help get all the chemical out of the rim.

The next morning I took them out and washed them and cleaned them with some Professional Aluminum rim cleaner I have ( the good stuff ) anda buddy remounted them for me..

all that and you can't scrub the white letters :flipoff2:

looks a ton better man. I like the Dodge.

Ya I did not get to them yet :) once I get all the tires mounted and back on the truck I will do that... maybe I will even Tire shine them :)

where did you get the chem dip, and is it the same as would go in a parts cleaner, or the 1 ga lbuckets you can get a autozone etc.

BTW looked at the pics of interior, truck is coming along nice.

You can buy the chem-dip in 5gallon buckets, or even 55gallon barrels from carquest if you want. I work in thier warehouse in Raleigh and I load all the trucks. We seem to sell alot of that stuff. -Tim

Buy COMET powder at grocery store and a good stiff brush. Does WONDERS on getting the white letters white again with a good brushing!

Interior looks awesome!

just to clarify that it is not my screen here...but the rear / new bed is a dark colored brown? And if so....you decided to paint the grill black...(and leave the bed brown for the moment?)

Grill looks good in black though...but man, how much headlight power are those blinders taking? I generally need MORE light...not less and with the invention of GPS...and the fact we haven't been bombed by air now since Pearl Harbor in the USA...I am thinking it is safe to take them off?

HEH....truck is looking good Ken, just had to bust on ya, cuz....well no good reason..

grill was only spray painted.. since I have a brand new CHROME one in storage :eek:oohhh:

figued better to test paint on old cracked grill then brand new one..

I am still trying to decide what color to pant my truck.. I really like all blacked out trucks but I am also leaning towars a dark silver.. I guess tme will tell..

Can I join the black dodge club? :driver: I plan on putting her in black primer for now I just got the brown one unloaded towed great coming home did 55-70 mph no problems
