survivor build

This is my new favorite. COMPLETELY AWESOME. Now I want one.
Surprised you didn't go with a LS1 intake. If the hood doesn't fit, that might be an easy solution but it looks like it'll fit in there.
Are you going to paint and keep the current rims or are you going to go with something different?
See you kept the A/C compressor. Good man
LS1 intake flows much worse than the truck intake, the LS6 intake flows similar to the truck intake but makes it's power up high rather than low down torque like the truck manifold with the longer runner, truck intake is best for this application albeit not as pretty, although there are covers or shaving to fix that. Also the LS1/6 intake requires a different water pump and accessory drive to work, or to mod the pulley on a car water pump to fit.
It's not a LS. LS have aluminum blocks
False. LS1? no, LS2? no, LS6? no, etc... but still LS series. LM7, LQ4, LQ9, L33, etc are all still in the GENIII/GENIV LS series family.

Tim, loving where this build is going, has me itching to get in the shop and working on my 5.3 swap in my 67.

I wasn't interrupting i just thought LS motors all were aluminum blocks... geez
I was wrong and i am man enough to admit it when i am and, i learned something out of it

Ill bite, its badass.

Definitely nice exhaust system. Very smooth lines. I would not be running it to much with 2 lug nuts per wheel. :driver: I like where this project is going can not wait to see the finial product.

Tim, you are hitting a home run! I love the front tires rubbing on the hood hinges! Beastly! Is that fuel filler an industrial air compressor line?

not to speak for firetoy, but methinks that filler line is a braided SS line available from mcmaster (I've ordered some of the 1/2" npt variety for work)

the line was from a engine dyno i bought in a box of junk at an auction. not sure what it was used for. just somthing laying around.

updates? is this thing running and driving yet? i'd love to do something like this when i get my current jeep project done. my hat's off to you! great work.

From the first line on the first page in the GM Performance catalog...

"The GM LS engine family is an engine design intended as the only V-8 engine used in General Motors' line of rear-wheel-drive cars and trucks. The LS series was a clean sheet design with little in common with the classic Chevrolet small block V8. Some LS engines are all-aluminium, especially the performance oriented engines, while others are cast iron, and all LS engines have 6-bolt main bearing caps".

I am not going to flame you for being stupid.
I think it was rude to interupt the thread while we are paying this guy a compliment on his hard work in honor of his Wife surviving cancer. Now go sit down and join the class.

Boooooooooooooooooooo Yah. Tim, whats going on with it?

i hope to get back on this project. i would like to have it driving this summer sometime.

Some progress. Hope to drive it soon.
