Swampy go fast

The sbc is coming out next week and is being replaced with a stock TBI 4.3 with harness from Jims performance. The truck runs and drives right now but it will damn near burn a 2 gauge starter wire up trying to crank once the motor is warm. The power range also sucks due to it being camed for top end power.

The 4.3 won't be a power house but at least it will be reliable...and it's free

Sucks man. Hopefully the 4.3 works out for you. If not, burn that bitch to the ground and start over with something else!

Ha....I've wanted to burn it a few times. This engine swap shouldn't be that bad. I'm going to have help this go round.:flipoff2:

A few more engine and trans combo's and you will have the "Green Truck" beat. You're catching it quickly lol. Ill give you a call later, been wicked busy with work and school. Hope this motor works for ya man.

I've still got a ways to go before that and I've made all mine run.....just not for very long:flipoff2:

Swampy is still in the shop.....The mech is going to start the engine swap on Tuesday. It's gettin a 305 with 5k on it. I will be running my propane on it. It's no race engine but atleast it will be reliable.

I'm also picking up a 2x8 double ended ram from Rock City tomorrow at DPG. Now I will need to get an Orbital. filter set up, short tie rods, and a mount for the ram.

They are starting on the engine swap tomorrow

I got my double ended ram and a 20lb Co2 tank this week...and a new serp belt. I'm pretty excited. I should have my truck back on Monday.

well this beats all I have seen. I thought I was bad....... So whats the progress.

I stopped in to check on the truck today and the engine is sittin infrount of the truck....taked to the mech and he said it will be going in tomorrow.

I will be in Morgington tomorrow so I'll stop by Kennith's and get my propane stuff.

I still have to order a orbital valve, get my tie rods from Bud, and get the midget (unbreakable) to make me a mount for my double ended ram.

I traded the old motor for my new one....plus the guy had to do the engine swap and such

I stoped by the shop tonight and Lee fired the truck up. It sounds pretty good for a 305  He still has to put the radiator back in and wire the alternator. I'm also in need of some new plug wires.

Are the 8.5 MSD wires much better than the Napa wires? I'm gonna have to get some boots to keep my headers from melting them.

I will bring it home sometime this weekend. Then it shouldn't take me more than a few days.

once you get it home you have to change the motor again

lol......I will just sell the damn thing before I change another motor in it. This one is fresh and runs great.I'm not going to mess with the motor so hopefully it will be fine

I'd go with the msd wires, they last a lot longer and can stand up to high heat.

I got a new ps pump today........bought one for a 95 astro van. it's made for an external resv. I'm going to change it out one evening this week. I have to get a new pressure side steering hose made/install the pump, put anti-freeze in it, then I can put it on the trailer and bring it home.

don't bring it home...its too soon.

I went by the shop today and put the pump on........OOps I forgot to do the pump mod first.....I guess I will do that tomorow. I still have to go to town and get a upper rad hose and have a pressure side ps hose made.
