Swampy go fast

Update....

The truck runs awsome. I've driving it around the house and it's doing really well. The 305 has more power than I thought it would. I changed my starter out this evening. I also wen't to get the bolts so I can put my rear shocks back on. My trans pan is leaking really bad...I kind of expected this considering I droped the trans off the chery picker and the pan is all beat up. I'm going to Mark's tomorrow to get a good pan. I wasn just going to replace the pan gasket (rubber) but then I got to looking at a B&M shift kit and bought it. I should have it in a buttoned back up by tomorrow night.

I also hope to have the propane back on this week.

Hopefully I can test/tune and be ready for the April's Fools day run.

I'm almost finished with the shift kit....I got started late this evening. Once I got the valve body and seperator plate off I found that the plate had transco stamped on it. I wen't ahead and put the B&M kit in it since I now had to replace all the seals anyway. The B&M kit seemed to have more pieces.....hopefully it will do better.

I'm going to Mark's tomorrow to get the trans pan. I hope to have the trans back together and be started on the propane by tomorrow night.

No nos for me. Swampy is going good. I'm just working out a few bugs here and there. I need a 4barrel base plate so I can put my propane on.

I just did some hot laps out in the woods behind the house.........I didn't have the front driveshaft in....got stuck...gave it hell and ran out of gas. Good times

WTF? Did you sell it? Or move
I guy from Virgina bought it who lives in Argentina. He flew up to get it and is going to drive it back and take it on an expedition down there. He seemed to be a young rich kid who didnt have to work:rolleyes:

What are your plans now?

I'm going to get the baseplate from Unbreakable tomorrow and I will get the Propane put on Tuesday....This this in finally comming together. Raising hell in this thing is pretty fun. I did some drifting in the Drum's parking lot yesterday...I thought it was going to tip over.

I blew the pressure line from the box to the pump......it coverd my headers with ATF. I thought it was going to catch fire.

Don't tear it up before you can wheel it or burn it up

I broke the back of my TH350 on the hill climb last night:shaking:
I guess I'm going to have Sigmons in Granite put my internals in another case.....I was all but ready for wheeling this weekend.

I am not 100% sure on this, but I know the 700r4's have different case variations. If you get another 350 case try to find a "K" case or the heavy duty equivalent. The 2wd version in our old farm truck came from a c20 and my mechanic told me it was a much heavier case than a car case or lighter duty truck.

Better there than dragging it to Harlan. Be sure to put a Xmember under the trans too man if you already hadn't. That 205 puts a lot of stress on the rear section of the case.

My crossmember was bolted to the adapter and then had poly bushings at the frame rails...also poly motor mounts. If it wasn't such nice weather.....I wouldn't even mess with it for a long time. This shit is getting old. I'd just put an sm465 in it but I don't want to mess with the clutch and new mounts.
