I am in the middle of a TC pump upgrade on my toyota. I have a modified toyota pump and it just sucks. In an attempt to move the supply tube on the new pump 180 degrees, I broke it off. We drilled out the remains of the tube, and started looking at what we could do to make the pump perform better. At the supply inlet, it necks down from 5/8th ID to 3/8th ID. After some time with the die grinder, I opened up the passage to the vanes.

I still need to tap the port for a 1/2 NPT and finish the rebuild.

If you were stretching the spring on the piston spring, and drilling out the orifice on the pressure side to get more PSI ( http://westtexasoffroad.homestead.com/powersteering.html ) This would be a good supporting mod to the increase flow / pressure.

steering is much better with the tc pump than a modified toyota pump. on concrete, with one tire at 1psi it took minimal effort to turn the wheels. The real test is in a couple weeks when I take it to URE. Also, I dont know how the steering compares to a stock TC pump.
