That hole in the lake I throw money into

I was at Hatteras and Cabo Yachts in the "good days".
Hatteras had a facility in high point in the early 90's
They used CAD when I was learning it it college. We went there to see how it was used in the real world. While we were there we got to tour the shop. Ironically at the time Dale Srs 50 fter was being finished up and we got to go inside it.
I'll never forget the fiberglass smell there at the molds šŸ˜³

My experience with a tri-hull, they are one of the roughest riding boats I have been in.
That said, they make pretty good "themed" fish ponds. Dirt cheap or free, buy it, sell the motor, if the trailer is in good shape, make a small trailer to haul lawn mower and such. Make a fish pond out of the boat,

i wouldnt touch it without a title you will have a hard time getting it registered if you got it fixed. like others have said stringers and floor are probably shot as well as transom. IF your wanting an older boat to fix up find an aluminum boat. they will still have problems but typically are easier to fix

Yes. Started at Hatteras in 2005 in New Bern as a mechanical / marine engineer. Worked up to director of new product development but left in 2018 to run engineering at Regulator Marine in Edenton. Been building / engineering toys my whole career.

Small world...I read the electric meters for the generators at both sites.

Ok, somebody with more brain than me either tell me I'm right, or an idiot. Or both.

Getting a title is as simple as filling out the title form? I don't need the old title or anything?

Call NC wildlife with the registration numbers. They can tell you who it was last registered to. Most boat that old never had a title, just the registration and did a bill of sale to transfer.

It's best to go talk to them have to go to the location in Raleigh (centennial campus at state). I got the run around from the folks in the phone when I tried to get my sailboat registered. If I recall, if you have a bill of sale from the previous owner it. shouldn't be a big deal.

Thanks. I may have to find a reason to go to a site in Raleigh.

I'm on a boat and, I'm goin fast and, I got a nautical themed pashmina afghan...

When was the last time that boat was registered?

Take what $ you think it will take to get this boat on the water and multiply by 10. Every rubber line/ wire / cable will need to be replaced. All these boats had wooden stringers and floors, so take that into consideration.

I would wait and find something that runs already. Then you at least know it's been out recently and can test what works and doesn't. It is no fun to break down on the lake, on the opposite side of the lake from the ramp, with nobody in sight. lol ask me how i know.

Alright, so Marty as I may be, I passed on the original boat as he insists that he needs a couple hundred for it. And am getting the free boat listed above. Maybe ill get lucky and itll sink and take me with it lol. Based on the pcs, it was registered in 07.
