Flat Lands Map2013.jpg

wow thanks for that map. so last would be what colors of the trail are what as far as difficulty? and does anyone know the guy "madjeepJ10" cause he was looking for someone to hike ride with on the trails and was hoping he would kinda guide us around xj areas plus maybe one or two of the harder courses.

thank u very much.

you might better stick to the black trail with the yellow dotted lines. you break a shaft up in there; clog up the works, and its gonna be ON

i didn't see black trail on the map or any dotted yellow lines and please don't worry, i don't plan on going in areas where i would have the potential to block people and ruin their trip...that's the last thing i would want on my first trip out!!

i guess i might as well ask now and save a beating later: which of the yellow trails should i stay off of to not pose issues/problems for anyone? i definately don't want to be treated like an incompetent complete newbi wheeler...having that said i'm no pro and far from it but would just like to be pointed in right direction for my setup which for those who didn't know: XJ 4.5" lift on 35s real nobby tread and welded front and rear and yes, stock diffs. thank you for any input and advise on the trails. this being my first trip to a real park i want to have challenging fun but also want to be respectful to others on the trail and not create any enemies.

Would a stock Toyota do OK on these green trails without body damage LOL? I have never been to the flats.

John, I am so glad that you are going. I am also glad that you stuck around after a lot of ribbing (most deserved honestly). Go out there, take it easy and have fun.
You just might turn into the biggest success story this forum has ever had.

I hope everyone treats John well, he has come a long way.

I broke my Dana 35 w/33s on easy street...

And laurel lane should be a Red
i'm debating "easy street"..have seen many videos and i hear on drier day its ok but if wet not so good so might have to wait until i get there and get a feel for the trails and wetness to see what kind of grip i get. plus once i watch who/what goes up certain trails i will be able to judge if it will be doable.

Yes as long as your smart about it and its not really wet

Show up start on the easy trails and work your way up to sthil hill and easy street. The trails are different every time I go. Between usage, rain, and trail maintenance they change from open ride to open ride. The left exit of easy street is suppose to be the easier side but the right was last time.

the wetness is my biggest worry i guess cause i know trails become way more difficult.

You should be fine on the green trails they will get you up to the harder trails so you can watch everyone including me beat on and possibly break there rigs
i do look forward to this!!

@John Fuller, with all due respect, please stay off of Easy Street. That trail will be a bit more than your drivetrain can handle.
Play in the middle playground area, Sunday Drive and the main loop trail among others.
I'm looking forward to meeting up with you.
I'll be in the blue Ranger screaming near red line.

i look forward to meeting any/all who i can. please forgive me if i "seem" distant at first cause until my wife gets comfortable with the setting and environment, we have to stick close and make sure she's ok and once she's ok, i hope to start roaming around and hope others come to introduce themselves. i have to be at her side the whole time but would love to meet anyone who can come around us to hang out/talk/and even take me on a route..i would love to have someone to follow at some point around some stuff they think i could do or try.

You and your family will be with some of the best people in the off roading community at this event. Period.
Listen to them and learn from them. I did and it has served me well.

As said, I would start with the trails/obstacles in the upper/lower flats areas and the parking lot obstacle, then venture into the woods on the green trails. Trail 1 is a big loop that hits about all the trails, so its a good one to ride on first and get a lay of the land. Also, everything in the woods is on the hill side, so if your wife is planning to hoof it, it might be a long day.

Quoted for emphasis. Maybe ride her around on the easier stuff and see how she handles it? She's really not going to be a happy camper if she has to hike all those trails.

ohh yeah..i meant she rides the easy stuff but anything that starts getting crazy/weird she gets out and walks/video tapes if worth taping. i'm planning on riding around all the green trails a couple times to show the wife the park and see what's around, then start to figure out what to mess with.
