ECORS is having our first race for 2011 at The Flats March 12.

Racing starts at 9am with Class A and the side by side class (Class U), then B, then Class C.

5pm starts a Bounty Hill Challenge. This is open to ANYONE (within safety rules) and is FREE!!! So, bring your rig even if you aren't racing for your shot at the bounty! $400 is up for grabs if you are the first up the new trail! You get to name the new trail too!

For anyone coming in to watch, its $10 and kids 12 and under are free!

Food will be available on site if you don't feel like packing your lunch. Camping for anyone is available and is free for everyone that spends the $10 to get in. Come Friday and watch some pre-running, camp, then be here Saturday for the race!

wish I could be there but looks like I wont be back in the states in time, will be close though!

Will it be open wheeling any on sunday for those who camp saturday night?

If you pay to get in on saturday you get to wheel on sunday

Yes to all those that pay to get in on Saturday, you may wheel on Sunday. In fact, after racing on Saturday you can wheel on the trails too. Racing is scheduled to be over by 4pm.

The Bounty Hill Challenge starts at 5pm for the $400 and is free if you pay the $10 to get in to watch. It is open to anyone.

If you don't want to watch the Bounty Hill Challenge, just trail ride for the afternoon :)

Leslie and I went to eat Saturday night. We went to the new restaurant right across I-40 from the Flats called "Open Flame" I was talking with the owner and he told me they have now started having a breakfast bar. $5.99, all you can eat. Not sure if is Fri-Sun or just Sat Sun, but thought some of you would be interested in a good breakfast. I know no one will wanna leave during the day, you'll miss something LOL But breakfast and dinner will be easy. They also have a pretty good salad bar/hot bar and now the breakfast bar.
other options:
Exit 86 you have a Sub Way, KFC, Pizza, Hardee's and Waffle House.
Turn left out of The Flats parking lot, and you will find Bantum Chef, A Mexican place if you go all the way through town(straight on Business 221/226 you will find The BBQ Hut. IMO Best Hamburger anywhere, If you are hungry, REAL Hungry, order the Hut burger, Biggest burger I have ever attempted to eat(Nope, I couldn't eat it all)
Along the same stretch just on the other side of down Town Marion, you will also find all the Auto Parts Places. Car Quest, Auto Zone, and Advance.
Easiest way to find Wal Mart, Left out of The Flats drive way, go to Stop light, turn left(By-pass 221/226) several miles, to next stop light, and it's on your left.(Turn left at that light) Also there is a grocery store, McDonalds, Wendy's.
Need a car wash? Turn left out of The flats driveway, go to light, turn right(that will also take you back to I-40 to exit 86
Unfortunately I have to work this weekend, but there will be many local folks there and Members of Rock Corps that will be happy to help you get to anywhere you need to go to get what you break, or forgot to bring.

2 questions:

What is the Address for the Flats?

What is required to try the new trail?

NC4x4 will be there to provide live video and chat coverage of the day's events, not to mention NC4x4 swag for sale and a Class B contingency. I should be much easier to spot than at previous races... for lots of reasons , so stop by and say hi!

will you have a link posted to where live video will be before Friday?

so I can send to friends.

thanks

BTW, rules for Bounty Hill Challenge are:

helmet required and must meet the ECORS rules requirements (DOT/Snell, no skull caps)
roll bar with hard top or full cage with open or soft top
Operational winch required
only 1 passenger allowed
no stacking rocks
Open to anyone 18 and older
5 min per attempt
you may pull cable and keep it slack in the event you feel like you will flip, but once the cable gets tight, DQ for that attempt
If you pull cable, DQ for that attempt
If more than 1 makes it up, the fastest wins the Challenge
If nobody makes it up, whoever made it the furthest wins 50% of the bounty, no naming rights

Am I missing something?

We can probably set that up... there will basically be a "click here to watch" link on the front page, like we did for DPG in November and for Harlan.

And, yeah, I think we're expecting to have more than just the start/finish line this time. ;)

BMS will be on the road from Texas Thursday afternoon looking for some mad crazy action.
