"The Ice Cream Getter"

Seen it in person at the Joe Gibbs Racing car show a while back, if you still own it. looking good

Thanks guys, I appreciate the compliments on the Jeep.

I did sell this Jeep about a year ago. I sold it to one of my co-workers, which is why you would have seen it at the JGR car show. He and I work for TRD and he spends a lot of time over at JGR. He has made some changes to the Jeep to make it a daily driver. He does drive it everyday now. He added air conditioning and put a family style cage in it, ditched the spool and he also put a T56 6 speed in it from Rockland using a Corvette tail housing and adapter plate to the NP231. He let me drive it right after he got it done and it was really fun to be able to hammer gears as hard as I wanted to with that T56. He keeps saying he may add on to this build thread by updating what he has done to it since he bought it from me.

For anyone that may be interested, I do have another build thread on the way. I put an Chevy 4.8/5 speed in a 2 door XJ. It is 98.987564% done.

4.8 and NV3500? What transfer case did you go with?

Yes, I used an NV3500, it came from a 98 S10 and I used an NP231 from a 94 S10, if I am remembering that year correctly.

I'm still rocking the NV3500 in my Silverado. It was originally a 4.8 truck and I swapped in a 6.0 with heads/cam/headers. Everybody told me it'd never last, but it's been a trooper! The clutch...well, I went through two before I finally dropped the money on a Spec. :driver:

I'd love to see the XJ! I bet it's a rocket :burnout:
