The proud parent thread.

Heath decided to work on a Civic we got for scrap. I kept an eye on him to make sure things were safe, but left him alone. He crawled in the trunk and got out the spare tire, then jacked up the car,put it on a jack stand, got my Dewalt impact, took off the back tire, and put on the spare. Then he decided to jack up the font end and take the tire off it. The only part I played in it was to correct him on his jack stand placement, then help him lift the tire up on the lugs. Kept him busy for a couple of hours.

Heath is 7, right? Great job, Dad.

WE HAVE A WORD!!!!!!!!! David has been trying to say "mama" for a couple weeks. Hed get "ma" but couldnt quite get the second part. Wife is ecstatic to say the least. This morning he was almost saying "love you", just couldnt quite get the l and y. Add to that, he has 3 teeth that have cut through, but have not yet popped up. I say they count, wife says they dont.

Rule in my house...if you can tap it with a spoon and it 'tings', it counts as a tooth.

Ill have to try that, ifn I can get a spoon in the kids mouth.

‘I wanna count my monies daddy...I yike dimes best (because they’re smallest and therefore cutest)’.

Told my 2.5 year old to ‘stop’ something she was doing at the dinner table...her response was ‘co-yabber-rate n yissen’...perhaps I need to quit (too legit) interjecting song lyrics in to conversations. Doggon I love that kid.

I was on a field trip with my kids and one of the teachers yelled "stop" and the entire class replied that. I had to stop what I was doing, laugh and congratulate the teacher!

Well not proud of what happened but how my little girl dealt with it.

Fell at daycare yesterday...Limped all night, cried all night, took her to the Doc and she fractured the lower part of her tibia...and is in a cast for the next month. 18 months old. She laid still and quiet the entire time they were setting the cast. I know things could be MUCH MUCH worse, but damn my heart hurts for her.

As noted in previous threads, really trying to get back doing things I enjoy doing...so that’s yielded a lot of lake dredging the last couple of weeks. Which has generated a lot of educational talks/conversations in my house hold. Had my wallet on the table sitting beside me, my 2.5 year old starts fiddling with it...no hunny, you don’t touch that. Her response ‘you have a gun in dare??? Das why I can’t touch???’ Wrong answer, but frickin little sponges. If that’s not an argument for exposure and education, I don’t know what is.

trust me, it's nice when you lay them in one spot and come back and he still there. You will never enjoy those moments again.
Yea, I miss that. Just a bit ago the wife put him down for bed and then came to help with supper. Watching the monitor every couple minutes, and suddenly hes gone. By the time we made it to the hallway, he was gettin it towards us already in the floor. Never made a peep. Just took off.

Is it acceptable to hog tie em lol? o_O

To me that 6 months after they take their first steps is just unfathomable growth. They go from a puddle of human to tough to keep up with and learn so much. Jut started walking last week...but wants to keep up with her sister. Proportionately as an adult, I can’t imagine a scenario that would be the equivalent level of courage it takes to go from ‘I can’t walk’...to ‘I’m gonna climb steps and slide’ over a week’s time.

Test drove it. Best part was Jameson screaming "daddy this is fun" while going down the road.

Then shook the dust off mine, hasn't really moved from the yard in over a month and a half.

Could you send me the details on how you strapped the car seat to the corbeau suspension seat? I maybe over looking something obvious. I'm looking to add a seat for my son in the next year or two, and looking for alternatives to a child specific suspension seat.

Really proud of our little girl! On Dec 13th, Little Calvary broke her leg. Told she was going to have to wear a cast for 4 weeks. Mom and I were bummed because this was her first Christmas where she sort of knew what was going on. She recognizes Santa and our tree and hated the fact she would be spending Christmas hobbling around, but it never phased her one bit. She laughed, she figured out ways to do all the things she'd been doing and she never slowed down. Happy to say, she got her cast off Tuesday and is re learning to walk on that leg just fine.

Quality ratchet strap through the seat belt holes and looped under the seat frame. Not "DOT approved" but it works and the seat is in better than if it were with a seatbelt. I have been planning to add another tab to the seat frame to clip in the car seat strap but just never have.

Thanks, makes sense. Obviously for "off-road use only".
