The "Taco Truck"

Well the last few days have been a little productive. Just not very pic worthy.
I got my cabinets finished up. Sanded, polyurethaned, and all the hardware installed.
I mounted some mirrored doors on my closet too which turned out pretty good. I was going to recess them in the existing doors but that seemed like a lot of work for nothing so after repolyeurthaning them I just screwed them to the existing doors.
I also picked up my new seats today so I guess I need to get started installing them.

Been a rough week but got a few things done on this thing.
I painted the walk in door and the screen door. Also put a new screen in the screen door. Really made it look new.

Also completely wired up the water heater and the water pump. Used some nice Carling switches and made sure everything was fused correctly. Turned out nice I think.

Thanks y'all I really appreciate the kind words. Hoping to be ready for spring! Would love to make the race at AOP in April. Think both projects will be done but may not have time to do a trial run with them.
It has been a real fun project. Just been tough doing this and the engine swap on the jeep.
May try to get the carpet replaced up front today. We will see

Well didn't really take any good before pics but the new carpet really made a huge difference. It's not completed but I got the hardest parts done but I'm not done for the night. Hoping to get the dash done tonight.the dash being the part where all the junk is sitting and the little cubby holes

This is awesome. I would love to build something similar.
I was just lucky to find this thing with everything it already had on it. I had an awesome base to start with. Most the hard stuff was already done.
I've looked for another truck like this and cannot find another one that has all the amenities this one had.

Ok I just thought I had the hard part done. Lol
I ended up removing the whole front cabinet to replace the carpet on it. Wasn't fun but it's done! May try to get better pics in the daylight.

Looking good
Will it have a toilet? shower? stove/oven?
I have a cassette toilet mainly for night use. No shower yet. Thinking of an outdoor shower.
I installed a microwave and have a nice propane stove but really don't think we want it. I do have plenty of counter space to use a hot plate or something like that. We figure we will use this more as a roughing it camper and just grill out mainly.

I would be set with an outdoor shower, as long as I have a good supply of hot water. Just need a mini pallet to stand on, and some sort of conduit and shower curtain surround.

Heck that's alot better than half the places I've camped and wheeled at.

That's what I was thinking. And put the curtain around where the water heater exhaust is to have a little heat while showering.

I have to do a little something everyday to this thing. Today I couldn't stand looking at the old ugly a/c fans so I went old school on them. Took em apart and cleaned them. Then I painted everything black except the blades. I polished them since they are aluminum.
May be pretty hard to tell in the pic.

I think I figured out my drivetrain vibration. It's a wonder it didn't come completely out in the few miles I've driven it. Guess I got lucky.
The driveshaft is now at the driveline shop getting all new joints and a new carrier bearing.

no playing around.
from the looks of that trash bucket, how many cold beers u think it takes to finish this project? lol

After getting the driveshaft back in yesterday and the microwave and fridge bolted in good I finally got to take this thing out once again. It drove smooth as a baby's bottom!
As of right now it tops out at 68 mph and drives great. I ordered a DennyT stage 2 fuel pin and a 3200 rpm governor spring thursday. I believe it will put this thing right where it needs to be pulling my jeep. Can't wait to get it put in this week. I also ordered an EGT gauge just in case I need it for pulling the mountains.

While I was out with it I stopped in and bought a nice comfy matress for it. It fit perfect on the bed frame I built for it. Everything seems to be working out great.

Couple more questions
I saw some seats you had bought, are you going to mount them for the kids to ride in with seat belts?
and where do Madox and Mason sleep, does couch fold out to make another bed? Maybe a bunk over the bed pictured?
